In 2012, in a proceeding straight out of the Inquisition, an Italian court convicted six scientists for providing "inexact, incomplete and contradictory information" in the lead-up to the earthquake. Now, a philosophy professor says that case may provide a worthwhile example for the treatment of scientific dissenters—specifically, "climate deniers who receive funding as part of a sustained campaign to undermine the public’s understanding of scientific consensus."

I want to criminalize disagreement among philosophers. Anyone who doesn’t follow the Aristotelian line should be jailed.
Verily, philosophy can tell us much. I shared the learned professor’s views. I feel the same way about geocentric heresy which is counter to Scripture, tradition and the everyday evidence of our experience. Philosophy tells us that there must be but seven planets, just as there are seven holes in the head (two eyes, two ears, two nostrils and the mouth). The Creator would not allow the superlunary to ever change or decay, therefore comets must be disturbances in the atmosphere. ‘Tis utter nonsense to think that God would allow planets to move in anything other than perfect circular orbits, despite the Keplerian heresy.
Anyone who questions these assertions should be adjudged a heretic, burnt at the stake, and his possessions given to the Church, and his family should become mendicant vagabonds and denied any offers or means of a livelihood.
