Shooting Starts in Crimea as Putin Defends Annexation

Multiple outlets are reporting that Russian troops stormed a Ukrainian military base in Simferopol, Crimea today. At this point, Reuters is reporting one Ukrainian soldier was killed; this De Welt report says the soldier was wounded.

Troops stormed a Ukrainian base on the outskirts of Simferopol on Tuesday, according to a Ukrainian military spokesman.

One Ukrainian officer was reported to have been wounded in the neck. There was no immediate indication of who was behind the incident, although Kyiv soon afterwards said Russia was responsible for the attack.

Immediately after the incident, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said the conflict had moved from a political to a military stage.

“Today, Russian soldiers began shooting at Ukrainian servicemen,” said Yatseniuk. “This is a war crime.”

The storming of the base in Simferopol comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered an address to his rubber-stamp parliament. In that address Putin called Crimea an integral part of Russia. Putin also accused Ukraine’s current leaders of being controlled by anti-Semitic radicals, and stated that Russia had no choice but to intervene in Crimea once Yanukovych was ousted. Putin’s address sets the stage for the annexation of Crimea, and lays down the logic by which he will eventually move into eastern Ukraine.

“He’s in a defacto alliance with Iran and will arm them with a nuke soon, too.”

if Obama is also in iran’s corner, how does any of this make sense?

It makes sense if Obastard is cooperating with the Iranians to establish the Caliphate.

Has Obama imposed a news photo-blackout inside the US?

No one seems to care about the millions of Christians being slaughtered throughout Africa, but we seem to care a great deal about a few Sodomites gets beat up there.

Make no mistake, you will know them by their actions.

And our imperial president has shown quite clearly through his actions who he does and doesn’t stand with.

The shooters are probably the same agents provocateur group that cornered Russia into taking this drastic action.

What’s left of western civilization is slowly fading from a death of 10,000 cuts...

...other than that, I dunnno.

....”Can we not get a decent leadership in place here before we worry about Putin?”.....

Actually Putin’s on the move ‘because’ he knows his time is limited under the weak leadership of the Obama Administration...and knows the world as a whole is battle weary from these wars...citizens do not want any more wars. So this plays into his acting now.

Tibetans can’t get support even if they wanted to. At best they may be “used” as leverage if China gets too pushy. Just like Obama invited the Dali Lama to the whitehouse to irritate.....it had nothing to do with their plight.

No one knows who’s doing the shooting.

It's those damned Dutch again, isn't it?

FROM RT:

The Kryminform news agency, citing an unnamed local police source, reports shooting came from a house under construction opposite the center and targeted Crimean self-defense units as well the military center itself.

“Earlier today self-defense units were informed that a group of armed men had been discovered in a partially inhabited building,” a source from the ministry said. “As they were taking measures to check, self-defense units came under fire. One man was killed, one wounded,” the source explained, adding that shooting came “in two directions from one spot”.

The Kryminform source claimed another man from the military center was wounded.

RT’s producer contacted staff inside the military center, who confirmed that the shooting did take place and came from a nearby house under construction. At the same time, the man had no information on the casualties.

Meanwhile, multiple reports that a Ukrainian serviceman died in the incident are unconfirmed by our crew at the scene.

So they snipped and killed a Ukrainian soldier and, just to be fair, shot a Crimean self-defense member?

SO???
Which is the better propaganda then?

Gov-funded RT?
Soros-funded reports?
Gay-controlled US Media reports?

Take ALL sources, then divine the truth from there.

LOL. There's such a thing as better (accurate) propaganda?

I question all reports. I reject all propaganda.

Guns are doing it. Guns always kill, just as SUVs always collide with smaller vehicles. More control is always the answer, so long as you ask the right question. Oh, and the people with their hands on the triggers are also partially responsible, because they will not negotiate and thus cause the never-ending spiral of violence to escalate. As for which side is right and which side wrong, those are relative terms.
