Data Deleted From Missing Pilot's Flight Simulator: Official
NBC ^ | March 19, 2014 | Henry Austin

Posted on 03/19/2014 8:15:55 AM PDT by don-o

Data was deleted from a flight simulator found at the home of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet's pilot, an official said Wednesday.

"Forensic work to retrieve this data is ongoing," Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia's acting transport minister, told a news conference. He added that local and international experts had been recruited to examine the homemade device belonging to Zaharie Ahmad Shah, the 53-year-old captain of the Boeing 777.

It was not immediately clear who deleted the files and why.

"The passengers, the pilots and the crew remain innocent until proven otherwise," Hishammuddin added. "For the sake of their families I ask that we refrain from any unnecessary speculation that will make their lives harder.”

Police Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar added that "the data of the games has been cleared on February 3" and that "experts are looking at the logs." Flight 370 vanished while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8.

The daily news conference descended into chaos before they spoke, when distressed protesters were removed by officials.

No necessarily meaningless, although I think the co-pilot is the prime suspect here.

Where IS that plane?

Neither ELT has triggered (so, no crash), and no Weight-on-Wheels message received (so, no landing)...

Plane is STILL in the air! Certainly ran out of fuel weeks ago, so only conclusion?

The plane is in panic mode, continually flying down a mountainous ridge for uplift, turning around going the other way, and so on. Without radio contact, they can only wait for us to check the mountain ridges!

from the article and Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia's acting transport minister mouth ...
"The passengers, the pilots and the crew remain innocent until proven otherwise,"

Strange remark from that part of the world.

Who doesn't empty their recycle bin.

I'm beginning to think the MSM doesn't want us to know what really happened.

I have been wondering if the captain was getting some heat from his employer for his political views and decided to go out in a blaze. From what I gather Malaysia is a pretty dysfunctional stew of muzzies, ethnic chinese, etc.

I have read that unless one over writes a hard drive (or takes a hammer to it) nothing is really deleted.

You can get software that can take all kinds of deleted files, even from emptied recycle bins, months before, and it can all be restored. They´ll find something interesting I imagine.

It may appear to be a game and anyone can have a simulator but the question is: What kind of flight path was he practicing?

If it was a plan to disappear with a large plane, someone would have to fly blind and only relie on visual flight rules therefore the endless practice on a simulator.

Now the drive is deleted, it will take a while to get it to the point that it could be read out.

If this is a giant kidnap/hijack to a secret location, the guy probably flew it over and over on his simulator before hand .. so it was very instinctive when he really did it. I have a friend that would always do this before he flew to a new place with an airport he had never been to.

He may have actually picked the exact location the plane is sitting at now as the destination.. if its not submerged..

Also it was mentioned above that this is a game.. I am not sure if that person is aware of the program.. but it is so realistic it is boring as heck to me. If you set it to real time it can take hours between your take off and landing. It really is a learning tool.

more likely a ‘thunderball’ operation.
pilot and copilot were substituted prior to take off.
now pilot and copilot will need positive id prior to boarding the plane.
