There are a lot of people who believe in God and who profess to being Christian, but who pervert scripture to their own sick purposes. Doesn't make them atheists, just misgiuided souls who will learn the error of their ways in His own good time.
And some believe the best way to subvert Christianity is to pretend to be one.
