LOS ANGELES Broadband and telecommunications giant Verizon is under fire for defending its decision to provide hard-core porn titles with child and incest themes. The company was included in the 2014 Dirty Dozen List of pornographys leading facilitators, compiled by Morality in Media (MIM), a national organization that opposes pornography.
According to MIM, lewd titles like I Banged My Stepdad, Mom, Daughter and Me, and Pigtail Teens Pounded are just some of the many offerings featured on Verizons FIOS video on-demand service. In a letter to MIM, Verizons Associate Director for Advertising and Content Standards John P. Artney defended the companys choice to provide the content, noting that consumers today have extraordinary choice in and control over the content available to them across these networks.
The explosion in choice is a tremendous benefit to consumers, but not all consumers want to have access to all content for themselves and their families all of the time, wrote Artney. Not all content is desirable to or appropriate for all consumers, however, and Verizon is proud to provide our customers with myriad tools to control the types of content that they and their families have access to through our service.

You realize all of this is freely available on the internet. Please, go ahead and cancel your internet service right away in protest!! Just wait till you find out about web cams and what people are doing this moment... diddling away while hundreds or even thousands watch!
It is up to the customer to get educated and disable access to this content if they don’t like it. If you aren’t smart enough, aren’t willing enough, aren’t proactive enough to get off your butt and block the content then that is on YOU! Freedom is real tough so let’s throw it out so we can all feel safe and warm and cozy.
As a technology professional, I am consistently disgusted in the general laziness and stupidity of the average consumer. What you do with the technology is up to you and considering how powerful it is, you need to take the time to understand it and implement it in a way that fits your morals and ethics. Just because filth exists doesn’t mean YOU have to allow it into your home. There are plenty of tools available to block it. Problem Solved with no butt hurt or protest needed.
Capitalists, who see the massive demand for online porn, are the ones who make these decisions. This stuff is available because people want to watch it. Nobody is forcing them and if parents aren’t smart enough to learn how to block it then they fools and this is likely the least of their problems in life. Yes it’s nasty, yes it is questionable in its depiction of teens, but it is free speech and I support it. I don’t need a Government or some other organization to make decisions for me on what I view in my home.
Same with drugs?
Is everyone who is now subscribed to Verizon canceling it? I would hope so.
I’m glad they are not in Canada other than the ‘enterprise solutions’ market. That said, I believe that Telus and Bell both offer lots of smut on their digital TV systems. Glad I don’t have TV, only internet.
When thermonuclear fireballs arrive from across the ponds they will be, in part, well deserved.
I hope this guy this guy gets torn apart limb by limb -- yeah, that too -- by a rabid pack of wolf-chupacabra crosses.
I hope this guy this guy gets torn apart limb by limb -- yeah, that too -- by a rabid pack of wolf-chupacabra crosses.
I hope this guy this guy/girl gets torn apart limb by limb -- yeah, that too -- by a rabid pack of wolf-chupacabra crosses.
You asked; “Whens the bestiality going to arrive?”
Well, honestly, I have less problems with pervs humping dogs, camels or ponies than I do pedophiles ruining the lives of children.
They are both sick and depraved behavior I have less sympathy for an animal. Besides, if the sheep back up to the fence aren’t they asking for it? I think that is why this arrived first, it is more offensive not less.
Re “When’s the bestiality going to arrive?”
I hear that the Arabs are planning to do some for export.
First reality show will be “I’d Walk A Mile For A Camel”.
Then someone in the US is making a series “Sheepless in Seattle”.
Mylie Cyrus is filming a bird show entitled “Raising Twerkies for fun and profit”.
Snoop Doggy Dog is going to start a show entitled - well you can fill it in if you don’t like “Doing it Doggy Style”, with real dogs.
You’ve already got “The Bunny Ranch”, something about rabbits I believe. Just ask Harry Reid for details. He might have been a walk-on in the old show “The Mustang Ranch”.
How about a remake of “Leave it to Beaver”?
Drugs, guns, R-rated Movies, automobiles, knives. I can spend all day listing dangerous items used by adults that we wouldn’t allow our kids to get ahold of. It’s laughable to see Conservatives engage in the same tactics as libtards when there is something out there they don’t like. Remember Chick-fil-A?
It seems useless to cancel a service out of protest simply because something is being offered you don’t like when all you need to do is block the content or don’t order it. Should Muslims and Jews protest every restaurant that serves pork and force it off the menu? Should Coke and Pepsi stop including caffeine in their beverages because the Mormons don’t like it or believe it violates their beliefs?
I have a 2 year old daughter and you better believe I will be limiting her access to the net, the television, and I will be monitoring her online activities. I know that the “example” we set will play the largest part in keeping her off the pole and away from self-degredation and pornography. As parents, it is our example and what we do and the choices we make that ultimately craft the morals and ethics of our kids. You will not defeat evil by building walls and hiding in caves or bubbles. Evil is defeated by living in the world, not of the world, and teaching others through your moral and ethical examples. You have to live righteous, not just talk it. Freedom deserves choices and sometimes that is the choice to fail and that needs to happen for some to learn. Those that don’t, won’t, and I don’t want to craft my life and my existence around others failures and limit my choices and freedoms. I want a life without limits, not one where big boy choices are locked away because some moron ruined him or herself.
Im not trying to bash those who would cancel their service. I only wish them to think for a moment and consider spending that energy elsewhere into an area of their life or cicle that would actually make a difference.
Maybe you missed the point. Promoting incest and underage sex. I have a problem with that. If you don’t, that’s on you. And I don’t have Verizon but I guarantee if I did, I would cancel. Ain’t capitalism grand?
Libertarians aren’t much different that liberals. Anything goes. Morals are not necessary because everyone is entitled to their own morals or no morals at all. Got it.
You consider the titles listed in the article to be R-rated? I'd hate to come in contact with ones that would make your "X" list.
I want a life without limits
Sounds like a sophomore in public high school.
How old are your kids?
I wish they would block all the child nudist sites too, it is sad how they exploit kids
Oops, sorry - I see you have a 2 yr old.
Good luck with your plan.
I don’t know that this is any different than the porn offered at Marriotts, where Mitt RINOmney collects checks for being a director...
Always wrong.
I would accept the argument that on-demand, like the internet, should have no censorship but adequate controls so parents and schools can block unwanted materials. However, if Verizon says they will not offer a program that was objectionable to, say, gays or Muslims, then they become censors and should be answerable to pressure groups of all kinds.
I agree. Wrong is wrong - no matter how much money is involved.
