Ukrainian troops had time to prepare and reinforce the border. The morals are high, they are ready.

70 years ago this month the Soviet Union invaded Ukraine and killed thousands of Germans and captured thousands more,”liberating” Ukraine. History repeats??

Another interesting tweet: Euromaidan PR @EuromaidanPR · 1h #Ukrainian ship Cherkasy crew trying 2 move sunk by Russian troops ships in #Donuzlav lake in order 2 get access 2 the sea -@Euromaidan PR Not gonna happen without heavy equipment. The Russians sank a cruiser there, not a barge, for a reason, I think.

I wish we had a President who would amass troops along our southern border.

The Ukraine Russia border is over 1400 miles long.
WHERE along that border are these 20,000 troops? Despite the hysteria, 20,000 troops in a country as large as Ukraine isn’t going to do much. And I’ll bet they aren’t aligned toward Kiev.
Donetsk or Kherson, where there have been clashes between Russians and Ukrainian nationalists, however?

20,000 is a division-plus or a small corps. Not really enough to go deeply into the Ukraine even if we assume there won’t be a lot of opposition.
Like the US in Iraq, the Russians might be able to slice & dice in the opening phase, but once they ‘go static’ then the real problems begin.

I kept reading before Russia had 80,000 troops on the border, sounds like most went home. Putin’s not going to invade Eastern Ukraine with a measly 20,000.
