A state board on Thursday granted 14 rape victims who had been working as prostitutes the right to be compensated, the first such action since it reversed its policy on the issue last year.

The California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board took the action on behalf of women whose claims had previously been denied. The victims' next step is to submit the amount of compensation they are seeking.

I just want to know when a class action lawsuit is going to result in the requirement tattoo warning label. You know, kind’a like on cigarettes. They should also warn about the danger of second hand hookers.

“The program gets its money from fines and restitution paid by criminals, as well as federal matching funds.”

In other words the money comes from taxpayers. Fines and restitution would go to the government. Federal matching funds is taxpayer money.

Don’t you feel good knowing your money is going to prostitutes.

Even if you never use their services.

As libertarians say.

“Give us our social liberalism and Sodom and Gomorrah today, and we will gladly end welfare and social programs and, on Tuesday.”

If I were to hire a California hooker I would give her a card with the phone number of the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, and then I would ask for a 50% discount.

Don’t you feel good knowing your money is going to prostitutes.

The IRS is the best example, except they screw us, not the other way around....and it is NEVER a happy ending.

Why does "double dipping" come to mind.

I guess it would depend on the circumstances of the rape. But wouldn't rape be very hard to prove under any conditions?

What about drug dealers that get robbed? Are going to get compensation as well?

Most of the 14 victims were raped in vehicles or hotel rooms, said Jon Myers, the board's deputy executive officer.

Seems likely enough? 'Cause when a prostitute accompanies you to a vehicle or hotel room, you KNOW she is an unwilling participant?

Bank teller says to the hooker, “I’m sorry miss but this check is no good.” The hooker yells, “I’ve been raped!”

How about yobs whose hands get injured while beating on the elderly? Don’t they deserve something? And home invasion robbers who get hurt when home owners fight back? There’s an unlimited number of criminal occupations that deserve California’s tax money.

Likely hospital bills.

Generally most rapes of prostitutes are violent offenders looking for someone to hurt who can’t just go to the cops. Ergot, find someone also in crime. A prostitute. A bookie. A drug dealer.

Yes all of those are doing something wrong. Doesn’t make rape less violent. And with someone who wants just to hurt somebody else well, when the clothes come off they know they aren’t armed.

Another factor in the rape of prostitutes is people with obvious physiological conditions that can be seen when they disrobe. The clothes come off and there are the running sores or scabs or track marks. Of course the prostitutes try to back out.

There are a lot of other factors in play, but those are several of the big ones.

They need help getting out of the life they are in, but raping them is not okay.

There are two prostitutes in the genealogy of Christ, and God chose who would be in that number. Doesn’t make them sinless, but it does tell who God came to redeem.

Did you want an answer with some thought to it, or did you just desire to imply that the people who rape prostitutes aren’t really doing anything wrong?
