Tapper: White House Concerned Russia Could Invade Ukraine as Soon as This Weekend

Quoting unnamed administration officials, CNN host Jake Tapper revealed that the White House is “concerned” that Russia could invade South and East Ukraine “possibly as soon as this weekend.” He said that, in spite of Russia’s assurances that the large numbers of troops and military equipment amassed along the Ukrainian border are there merely for training exercises, the White House believes that Moscow could be planning a broader incursion into Ukraine.

“There is now real apprehension that Vladimir Putin could push even further into Ukraine, perhaps as soon as this weekend,” Tapper said. He quoted anonymous administration officials who are “concerned” that the Russians are not being honest when they claim that the troops stationed along the Ukrainian border are not preparing for an invasion.

Russian officials have assured the administration that they are only conducting military exercises. “But, Obama administration officials have received intelligence suggesting there is reason to be skeptical of Russia’s claims,”Tapper continued, “and that Russia, as soon as in the coming days, could use any number of pretexts to justify pushing its military incursions deeper into Ukraine.”

The CNN host added that such an invasion could be carried out by Russia so quickly that Western nations would barely have the opportunity to “raise objections” over it.

I’ll be intrigued to see if Putin limits himself to only the Russian areas of Ukraine, takes the entire country, or if he takes the east and south and sets up a “Vichy” government in the rest.

Failing and Flailing rat presidents in the past when the nation’s economy is going down the drain during their watch, often become or appear war like to divert attention. Sometimes their actions end up with a hot undeclared war like in Korean and Viet Nam.

AMAZING how quiet the Anti-War liberal left is on yet another possibly pending undeclared war by the Peace Prize President Obozo Liar, isn't it?? Remember how quiet or supportive the mediots were when he wanted to bomb Syria last year?

LBJ went from being a so called great president with the liberals with his war on poverty, which is still being lost, to one of the worse presidents ever after he deepened the Nam War because of the Gulf of Tonkin event.

Now, Obozo the Liar appears to be following in the footsteps of LBJ with his fale concerns about Putin and the Ukraine like he tried to do for the Muslim Brotherhood Thugs and al Queda in Syria.

"Obozo, the Liar, is again trying to draw us in again, like in Syria. He may go into a war type reaction of course without the consent of the Congress and the Consent of the Governed with a Gulf of Tonkin type of event. This could be another impeachable act that will be ignored by the mediots and the rats in Congress.

we’re too stupid to do that...at least giving them arms, they could defend themselves...As for “provoking” Putin with arms shipments...DUH..Putin is going to go in there anyways, he might just think twice if there is a risk russian soldiers get killed, that would be very bad press for him at home.

don’t you just love leading from behind!

Obamas stern warnings are like a Restraining Order in a domestic dispute...not worth the paper its written on!

Yes..restraining order..that is true. Those actually are responsible for instigations of murder often. They just fan the flames often, in an emotional situation.
I actually was a long time member of a church lead by the “rev.” Jesse Lee Peterson who appears on occasion on Hannitys show. I saw that he actually is a bit of a control freak, and I spoke up to him..
Was excommunicated, which was fine with me. I sent some literally harmless emails of my dismay of the bad turn that the “rev.” has taken . He actually filed multiple restraining orders, taking away my right to own a gun for a while. He also process to lie his ass off in court in order to influence the judge against me. I have never seen such wickedness wielded against me, and from my own political side!

In fact, it is “1939”. The US is not eager to join in the upcoming World War festivities. The Iranians will be the “Japanese” this time, while Nuclear attack will be the “Pearl Harbor”.

If Obama and Biden are all that’s standing in Putin’s way, the Ukrainian take-over should be swift and decisive.

The best joke of all is that the Obama administration spent $5 billions in Ukraine (US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, Nuland said: “We have invested more than 5 billion dollars to help Ukraine to achieve these and other goals.”) for in the end ... offer to Vladimir Putin the Crimea peninsula on a silver platter. Russia has got it back without firing a shot.

Best joke of the century!

They might as well have sent the check directly to Putin.

US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, Nuland

February 9, 2014, Finian Cunningham wrote:

“Take Victoria Nuland - the US Assistant Secretary of State - who was caught using obscene language in a phone call about the European Union and the political affairs of Ukraine. In her previous posting as a spokeswoman for the US State Department, Nuland had the demeanor of a robotic matron with a swivel eye.

Now in her new role of covertly rallying anti-government protesters in Ukraine, Nuland has emerged to sound like a bubblegum-chewing Mafia doll. In her leaked private conversation with the US ambassador to Kiev, the American female diplomat is heard laying down in imperious tones how a new government in Ukraine should be constituted. Nuland talks about “gluing together” a sovereign country as if it is a mere plaything, and she stipulates which members of the US-backed street rabble in Kiev should or should not be included in any Washington-approved new government in the former Soviet republic.

We don’t know who actually tapped and leaked Nuland’s private call to the US ambassador in Kiev, Geoffrey Pyatt. It could have been the Ukrainian or Russian secret services, but, regardless, it was an inspired move to reveal it. For the disclosure, which has been posted on the internet, lays bare the subversive meddling agenda of Washington in Ukrainian internal affairs. Up to now, the Americans have been piously pretending that their involvement is one of a bystander supporting democracy from afar.

But, thanks to the Nuland’s foul-mouthed indiscretion, the truth is out. Washington, from her own admission, is acting like an agent provocateur in Ukraine’s political turmoil. That is an illegal breach of international rules of sovereignty. Nuland finishes her phone call like a gangster ordering a hit on a rival, referring to incompetent European interference in Ukraine with disdain - “F...k the EU.”

What we are witnessing here is the real, ugly face of American government and its uncouth contempt for international law and norms.”
