Where are the positive stories about Obamacare?
Los Angeles Times ^ | March 23, 2014 | By Michael Hiltzik

... With the March 31 deadline for 2014 enrollment in individual health insurance just days away, more questions are being asked about the mismatch in publicity about the Affordable Care Act by its opponents and supporters.

The millions of beneficiaries of the measure — families excluded from insurance because of high premiums or preexisting medical conditions, low-income individuals made newly eligible for Medicaid, seniors receiving a new subsidy for prescriptions, women granted the legal right to affordable maternity coverage for the first time — seem to be absent from the news media or political ad campaigns.

Here is a fact for them. There aren’t any good stories.

Medicaid is nothing to strut around about.

Here’s a quick story on an obamacare signee.

I went to a family owned hotel yesterday and was talking to the manager who was trying to change obamacare plans while on his hotel computer.

Seems like he had researched a plan and never paid for it but now that he wanted another plan for real the obamacare support people would not let him switch to another plan.

He was pissed to say the least and said he just would declare a hardship and forget the whole thing.

The writer of the article undermines his own premise (no surprise there).

High-risk patients paying under the odds (i.e. eliminating any market forces) is not a ‘success,’ merely another example of ivory tower lefties standing a Christmas tree on the narrow end and expecting it to stay upright.

"If there were no election over three or four years, 25 million sign-ups would change the mood," Blendon says. "But we have a consumer referendum in 2014, and it's not clear how it will play out."

HA HA if there were no elections, 0bamacare would succeed? Just damn!

Democrats usual way of pushing their lies - cherry picking a few extreme examples that support their meme then having the press push it out - isn’t going to work this time.

The usual pity party cases - more than enough to show how ‘wonderful’ Obamacare is won’t work because reporters know too many real people damaged by this program.

“WHAT does THAT mean?”

That’s like the term “affordable housing”.

It begs a definition.

IMHO

You have that right, To many ILLEGAL INVADERS on it.

Fastest way to get Medicare disability is to claim you are crazy. Not hard to cheat the test either.

But for those of us truly disabled it takes years. Guy in my Sunday School class was on the Heart Transplant list, be could not work. SS disability turned him down multiple times even with a lawyer. The church and his wife kept a roof over their heads and food in their mouths. This is A..backwards if you ask me. He should have been at the top of the chain.

When he was pronounced clear, he found a job he could do and got off disability, he didn’t have to, but he was a honest man, and wanted to support his own family.

Well we don’t qualify for 0’care ours is worse they are government Mandated. Medicare and Tricare Life for retired Military over 65.

WE WILL LOSE OUR PHARMACY! and express scripts sucks galore.
Our health care is not the big item issue they are making it out to be. It is their DONOR PALM GREASING with hardware the Military does not want or has requested! IF YOU KNOW A MILITARY PERSON PASS IT ON!

TRICARE LIFE Retired Military over 65 just received this noticed 2 weeks ago, takes effect 4/14/2014, why they sent a prelim with out the drug list is WASTEFUL spending in itself! BETTER START CALLING YOUR CONGRESS CRITTERS NOW! ANOTHER BROKEN PROMISE TO THE MILITARY WHO CAN’T PROTECT THEMSELVES!

PLEASE NOTE THE PALM GREASING IN THE FIRST LINK! THAT IS THE REAL PROBLEM, NOT Retiree’s health care.
ALL RETIRED MILITARY! All I see is a nightmare. ES cannot be trusted to get the RIGHT manufacture, and not all generics are equal to name brand.

As a very drug sensitive person, I WANT A WAIVER! And should be able to get one. Or get samples to try first I am extremely drug sensitive!

I did not include the cover letter.

This is couched in such language that it is hard to under stand. This is a Prelim letter, we don’t even know at this time which drugs are going to be on the list. Waste of money to not send out the full thing.

These are the option we are going to be given in a “new” SCREW U Pilot program from Tricare.

1 Transfer your medication from a retail pharmacy to save , convenient Tricare Home Delivery and pay less out of pocket! A typical cost for a 90 day retail supply is $51 but only $13 for Home Delivery.

2 Ask your doctor about using a low cost generic that is not among the medications included in the Pilot Generics can still be filled at retail for $5

3 Transfer maintenance medications under the Pilot from retail pharmacy to a military pharmacy. Call your local military pharmacy to see if they have you medication
4 Continue to get you selected maintenance medications at a retail and pay 100% of the cost of the medication starting with your third refill.

If you refill your selected maintenance medication’s at a retail pharmacy after March 14, 2014 you’ll get letters from the Tricare Pharmacy contractor Express Scripts, Inc about switching to Home Delivery. Remember, starting with your third fill you will be responsible for 100% of the cost of the medications if you chose to continue to obtain them at a retail pharmacy.

If you have other health insurance with a prescription benefit, you do not fall under the Pilot. There will also be a process to obtain waivers on a case by case basis, due to personal need or hardship, emergency or other special circumstaces-0 such as living in a nursing home. After participating in the Pilot for 1 year you may opt out.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

They do cherry pick and then they turn around and accuse the opposition of cherry picking. Projection in every direction. They talk about tolerance and compassion and then rejoice when someone who opposes them drops dead. Liberals are amazingly two faced but they all seem to think they are the soul of reason, shining their light into dark corners to brighten the world.
