We in America don’t think about this very much. But, there are distinct regions of America, such as Texas, in which people don’t feel they have much in common with people in Boston, Cambridge, Berkeley, Upper West Side of Manhattan, etc.

Even within states, Chicago is a different world from downstate Illinois, upstate New York is different from the New York City area, etc.

Stay tuned. This trend could come to America.

If we split into a liberal America and a conservative America, some major issues would go away. Because critical numbers of people in each area would agree about abortion, homosexual marriage, the role of government, the size and scope of government, school policies, tax policies, and other areas of disagreement between liberals and conservatives today.

Yeah, if the country worked the way it was designed to, a federation of States with DC limited to a handful of tasks, this would not be an issue...
