Poll: Latinos souring on Obamacare
washingtonpost.com ^

A new poll shows Latinos -- a fast-growing and key demographic in American elections -- aren't as fond of Obamacare as they once were.

The Pew Research Center poll showed Hispanics are split on whether they approve of President Obama's health-care law, with 47 percent approving and 47 percent disapproving.

The numbers are notable because Latinos have generally been among the health-care law's chief supporters. Other polls have shown they supported the law by a 2-to-1 margin, and a September 2013 poll, before the law's implementation, showed 61 percent of Hispanics approved of it.

I guess like many others, they are realizing this isn’t a “freebie” after all.

Anyone with a functioning medulla oblongata should realize BO and his entire team are grifters.

“Anyone with a functioning medulla oblongata should realize BO and his entire team are grifters.”

His base is composed of those who know it, and are benefiting from it.

Years ago in school I volunteered in a program in which we prepared tax returns for urban residents for free. Many of the clients were older women who had children that no longer qualified as dependents; when they saw that they would owe money (probably for the first time in their lives) instead of receiving a refund, they would simply throw the forms away (right in front of us) as they left. Didn’t seem worried about prosecution for tax evasion at all; just threw the forms into the garbage right in front of the (non-”urban”) volunteers who had prepared them...

Are they polling American citizens? Or, just hispanics?

An objective look at the provisions written into “Obamacare” would indicate its costs as being approximately equal to the purchase of a major medical plan, in which the benefits kick in after a rather large deductible has been spent down. But there is no allowance made for the establishment of a Medical Savings Plan, to cover the $12,000 in “deductibles”, and no incentive to establish one on the individual’s own initiative.

On a comparative basis, the so-called “plans” provided under this atrocity known as the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” in no known way measure up to the major medical expenses plans with the large deductibles. With mandated services, but no provisions for catastrophic costs should the care provided not meet with the Independent Payment Advisory Board’s prior approval, the only result is denial of that technique.

Wasn’t that the objection raised to commercially purchased insurance, that some faceless “death panel” would rule on the economic feasibility of allowing some procedure, and turn it down if certain criteria were not met? How is the IPAB any different, except the criteria would be set much, much higher? And not necessarily related to any economic feasibility determination?

After all, the IPAB would have no contractual obligation to provide any kind of alternative, and not even a legal requirement that their findings could be challenged in a timely manner, whereas the commercial insurance entity would have a strong incentive to avoid such legal entanglements.

-——But there is no allowance made for the establishment of a Medical Savings Plan-——

With apologies to Steve Forbes, the Medical Savings Plan will be the strong primary girder of the Carson Plan coming when the Republicans put Dr Ben Carson at the head of the health care disaster cleanup effort

Unfortunately, I fear that many who disapprove do so because it’s not socialist enough.

We learned a way around the crush of indigents in the ER when we had to take my M-I-L to the local ER one evening. “She’s a heart patient.” GURNEY COMING THROUGH, MAKE A HOLE.....

Another group of self-centered people who don’t understand what Obamacare is all about.

How do they expect the US to pay for Michelles Obama’s multi-million dollar trip to China and her $8,400 per night hotel if they aren’t willing to spend a few thousand extra on ObamaCare?

The government has to get its cut of the Obamacare fees to finance Barack’s Wealth Redistribution.

In this case their wealth is being redistributed to Muichelle Obama.

Well... they’re souring on it because it’s a government intrusion on their lives, or they expected a single-payer system?

I’m wondering that too. I’m sure there are many people who are mad because it didn’t become a fully socialist health care system. I’m really hoping that some people are waking up albeit a little on the late side.

No, you are wrong. America will not tolerate anarchy. Medicare is and will be.

The problems Americans fear with previous conditions, inability for insurers to compete across state lines, tort lawyers and on and on must be resolved.
