TEA PARTY V. ESTABLISHMENT FIGHT MAY INTENSIFY IF GOP REGAINS SENATE

Contrary to rumors that the Tea Party is in demise, if Republicans gain control of the Senate and retain control of the House after November, the Tea Party versus establishment battle may just be getting started.

Statistician Nate Silver gave the GOP a 60% chance of taking back the Senate, and the Los Angeles Times noted that the Tea Party is getting ready for its next phase of promoting policies to lower the debt and mitigate or repeal Obamacare.

Grassroots conservatives, having given the GOP its House majority back in 2010, felt snubbed when the establishment tried to blunt their influence. If the GOP controls both houses of Congress after November, the Tea Party will try to pressure leaders to champion more conservative policies, such as pushing for the "so-called penny plan, which would require annual cuts of 1% in government spending until the budget is balanced."

"We've definitely matured and have gone into what many of us call 'tea party 2.0,'" Amy Kremer, chairwoman of Tea Party Express, told the Times. "We no longer have protests in the streets, but we're working to elect people and affect legislation and do the things that really have to be done in order to effect change."

Grassroots conservatives will also try to simplify the tax code with a flat rate and "take the fight to repeal Obamacare to the state level, pushing legislatures to enter into interstate health compacts that they say would allow states to ignore federal regulations and enact their own reforms."

Those who attended the five-year anniversary of the Tea Party movement, which the Tea Party Patriots sponsored, heard about some of these agenda items from Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin.

Tom Balek, a small-business owner in Montana and Tea Party leader at the local level,

Well, if the GOP regains the Senate, it will likely be in large part because of the hard work of Tea Partiers.

If the GOP regains the senate they’ll be even more emboldened against the Tea Party because they’ll believe they won even thought they told the tea partiers to “stick it”.

Just keep voting more conservatives in until the super majority (90%+) of the GOP is that way.

It doesn't matter because if the GOP(Gang Of Pissants) regains the Senate all they will do is share the power and continue to fail miserably! Come on we have seen it before, what makes anyone believe it would be different this time with Leadership like Boner, McChickenonnell and that psycho McLame!

A Republican majority built on Tea Party victories is a good thing. A GOP majority built on more Establishment types is meaningless.

I continue to be amazed at the absolute faith everyone puts into our electoral system…. as if the MarxoFascist coup never happened and it was all just a bad dream.

“Just elect more Republicans” I keep hearing over and over again as if the fruits of 6 years of total Republican control that paved the way for Obama never happened.

As if electing Republicans is somehow supposed to save us.

If there's someone I'd pay to see him sh!t his drawers from Tea Party shock, it would be Nate Silver.

He's the wunderfreak who GREATLY helped 0bama play/work this past election to the Nth degree.

We owe him for the terrible showing we had against 0.

Democrats, Republicans, Independents and any other breathing thing knows the Republican party stands for nothing and has no known direction for America except for them saying we are not Democrats.

Democrats have been Santa for the vote with the treasury and Republicans got scared and tried to hide and get along instead of fight.

It IMO is an old-boys network in need of retirement.
We know the Dems/Progressives are basically communists or a commy lite big government control party.

Power to the people my butt.

Tea Party was created due to Obama and due to a lack of testicles by the Republican party.

Republicans IMO are going down after a few more elections or will be taken over by conservatives with a vision.

If we regain the Senate we will all have to go down to Capitol Hill and put serious pressure on the Rinos to do the right thing. It has been a long time since I Freeped Al Goron at the Veeps mansion with fellow Freepers but I’m still game

Sorry but I don't see how pointing out the weakness of the GOP elite translates to me wanting Shrillary as resident. I have seen the GOP take the majority and then fold and share power before and I don't doubt we will see it again and that has nothing to do with how many morons might vote for a witch.
