Senate Candidate: I'll Use My Hog Castrating Experience To Help End Pork Barrel Spending

Joni Ernst, a Republican candidate in the GOP Senate primary in Iowa, is touting her experience “castrating hogs on an Iowa farm” to underscore how emphatic she will be about ending pork barrel spending in the U.S. Senate.

“I'm Joni Ernst. I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm. So when I get to Washington, I'll know how to cut pork,” Ernst says in the ad, followed by the sound of a pig squealing.

The ad, which was provided exclusively to Breitbart News, will appear in television spots in Iowa. Ernst ends the ad saying, “Washington's full of big spenders. Let's make them squeal.”

(video at link)

As previously reported at Breitbart, Ernst is one of several conservative candidates who are running against a wealthy businessman with a strikingly liberal record.

The East Coast Journies are laughing their a$$es off over this, but I bet it has some appeal. After all, I would think that half of Congress needs to have their cojhones cut (while the other half don't have any to begin with).

Paying pork is the only way to buy votes to get legislation passed. Whether it’s good or bad isn’t important. The question is, do I get my pork or not? No pork, no vote. Simple as that.

How do you think we get all these horrible laws. This is why the guy you sent there to do X and he votes for a bill to do the exact opposite. But, he got a bridge to know where for his buddies, he got a defense contract for the company that gave him $200k. He also got a museum named after him.

There’s always a liberal GOP candidate and several conservative ones in many of these races....Why?????....to split votes so the liberal wins.

Probably at least one or more fakes or phonies trying to help the GOPe in this situation.

Maybe she can use her hog castrating experience on McConnell and some other senators. Oh, they’ve already been castrated.

YOU are so right, General. Pork is part and parcel of our system.
There's nothing wrong with putting a little apple sauce with it--sweetening a deal, that is.

Our system AIN'T perfect SO I invite the naysayers to leave our country and live somewhere else. Why not? Let them SEARCH the planet for a better place to live than here.

Hah, it's my guess that they wouldn't last long anywhere else.

Most of the pork doesn’t pass the Tenth Amendment test.

I don’t really mind so much that they send money to their state or district. (I gather this started in its current form when Andrew Jackson was president.) What I eject to is if they promise to support x, whatever x is and they pass a law that does the opposite because they got their pork. I sent him there to support x and I think if he says he does that he should. Period.

She should proclaim to have a 'nad Box.

It'd be handy for the future.

The City by the Bay is BEREFT of homosexuals! (Well, almost!)

They have been SO TOTALLY mainstreamed and their lifestyle has been so ACCEPTED as a bona fide "alternative" lifestyle that they have spread their sweet little wings and now live ALL over the state and country. They aren't forced to congregate in ONE city anymore because AMERICA thinks it's "just swell" for them to have same-sex love, marriage and children. MAJOR BLARK!!

THANK YOU, AMERICA! You have, by your tolerance for the same-sex evil, emptied our beloved city of MOST of the queens, dykes, fairies and other "alternative" life-style misfits.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I grew up in Altoona, Iowa until 1977. Worked on a farm and knew what it was like to milk cows, take care of pigs, chickens, horses and the like.

Castrating a pig is not for those with weak stomachs. This woman has got to have some good intestinal fortitude for that! Hell, *I* couldn't do it!

I hope she gets elected and goes about the business of castrating the male Democrats and Republicans before she cuts the pork from the Budget.

Just sayin'.

Pork is part and parcel of our system.

So ... you're OK with that? Pork barrel politics is just fine with you? Really?

Bullcrap!!!

Pork barrel politics works only to enrich and expand the power of a ruling class we shouldn't even have.

Here's our system. 99.9% of your precious pork-barrel politics directly violates our system.

I invite the naysayers to leave our country

GFY. This is MY country and my intent is to FIX it ... not wallow in corruption. You?

I would like to compare notes with Joni. Have you ever castrated a hog? I started out with dad doing the cutting and me holding. Later we reversed roles. He did it with a very sharp jack knife. I still remember him sharpening the knife at the kitchen table in the morning and I knew what the drill was for the day. Two slits and squeeze. Out one would pop through each slit, grab the nut, and a quick zip underneath and that was that. Dad would toss the nut and the dog would catch it on the fly. Turpentine in a small necked bottle was all we used for disinfectant. There is nothing more pathetic than a porker who is humped over walking away after he has just lost his jewels.
