Vatican City (AFP) - Barack Obama will meet Pope Francis for the first time Thursday for talks on a shared agenda to fight inequality which the US President hopes will help boost support at home.

The talks between the first Latin-American pope and first African-American US president will focus on tackling the gap between the rich and the poor, but are likely to spill over into thornier issues such as abortion, homosexuals and contraception.

The meeting at the Vatican comes as a welcome rest-stop for Obama during a six-day European tour dominated by the crisis over Crimea, and the US leader will doubtless be hoping some of the pope's overwhelming popularity will rub off on him.

Yup I can really see how an abortion advocate would get a Catholic boost, but that’s the fantasy world obamaramadingdong lives in. The Pope should just remind obama that Christ will be around long after he is dust blowing in the wind.

Neither one of them has any idea how to accomplish that.

It’s called the free market.

I don't know Bible history as I should, but was Saul that much worse than the one known as obama?

Once God got Saul's attention, the one known as Saul essentially died and was reborn as Paul.

Perhaps a similar sort of miracle will happen to the one known as obama.

I doubt Satan wants to give up one of his favorite chew toys, but God is God and can be very persuasive.

For his soul's sake, I hope the one known as obama has a spiritual awakening and ceases to be one of the walking (spiritually) dead zombies and then undoes the evil done with his words and signature.

He’s probably sizing up the Vatican to redo the Whitehouse. After all, he figures he should get another term, and while he’s at it that Pope outfit...hey!

“Looking for Catholic boost”

Does he think we’re stupid?

Then again, since millions of kathlycs voted for him both times, maybe he’s on to something.

Pope Benedict did not allow Pelosi to be photographed with himself, knowing and admitting what propagandists she and her media followers are like.

The Pope does not have to approve of whether Obama nor anyone is living a good Catholic life, or anything close to it, to see him. Likewise BO doesn’t have to approve of the Pope living a communist idealists lifestyle or as a worshipper of BO in order to sit with him.

BO is seeing him because he is a world leader, and for what ever other nefarious ideas he has.

BO has as much respect for the institution and its foundation as 50% of the Catholics in this country who voted for him, and the rest of the Catholic bashers and haters, on the left and on the right.

The institution, though, is powerful, and is much greater than the Pope, who does respect its foundation and tenets.

The Pope knows more than anyone what the US is doing in the way of abortion, and knows what goes on here, and by the way, BO legislated and wrote on the decision to kill babies after birth. He wrote against the Born Alive Protection Act, stating that to protect these babies, the institution of abortion would be questioned and threatened.

If I know that, the Pope knows that.

Thing about the Church is that it’s not a democracy. Anyone who promotes abortion will answer about it to God. natural Law states that abortion is murder, common sense dictates that life starts at conception.

The bible certainly states that. The beginning of the New testament starts not with Christmas, but with the Annunciation.

The Church advises. It dictates only to the extent that one cnnot receive the Eucharist while in the state of mortal sin.

And it does not make up what mortal sin is, God does. From the Ten Commandments.

That’s it.

Everyone knows, many do not accept, we have free will. Church, nor God, will ever try to take that away.

THe meeting was requested by BO. He’ll go, they’ll chat he’ll leave.

the people in this country voted for this. What can the pope do about it? Tell him to stop abortion? It’s been int the law since 1973.

The people in this country run it. we get what we vote for.

I’m hoping that Pope Francis will block the media like Benedict did with Pelosi.

BooHoo for Obama — no poses photo shots.

The Pope can refuse to see Obama and publicly state why. That would be true leadership. That would be true bravery.

I expect that I will not see either bravery or leadership from the Pope or the President.

I'm hoping Pope Francis DOES pass judgment on evil obozo, and that he doesn't fall for any photo op, or appeasement, acceptance of obozo in any way. This is the Pope's opportunity to meet evil straight on with a steely eye and sharp teeth, and deal with the evil POS obozo, as you would the Devil...he IS evil.

That’s not how it works.

The other thing is that 50% of this country want abortion, and it has made it the law In this country. It is acceptable, officially, in this country o have 53 million abortions and 1.3 million yearly. what does that have to do with Obama?

Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, were pro abortion. George Bush didn’t outlaw abortion, and he was pro abortion in some cases, that the Catholic Church is against.

People want the Pope to tell Obama to quit ruining our country. And to refuse to see him until he does. No. The Europeans are for abortion, and the Pope sees them. The Muslims are for murder and he sees them. Who’s he going to see? only purists? Reagan grew up Catholic, was married in the church, divorced and remarried, The Pope was supposed to refuse to see him?

What does refusing to see Obama do? Send him running in shame and repentance? That’s silly to think that would happen. Send him back to the US claiming that the Pope was judgmental to him?

Our citizens are in charge of our government. When BO goes to these places, he represents us. He is not a King, certainly not a Catholic King, like Henry VII was, when the Pope told him what he should do, and henry refused to obey, starting the new state religion, Anglicanism.

Leaders like BO don’t look at the Pope as effective in their own lives. Heck most of the Catholics don’t care about what the Pope says.

They don’t have any idea that the Pope sent a letter to the Faithful condemning birth control and in it stated that birth control would bring about abortion and eventually an intrusive tyrannical government, and that the Pope would consider the Catholics who know better, who know they are in mortal sin practicing birth control and nearly 9p% of Catholics who live in adulterous relationships to be well on their way to a bad situation, and who voted this guy in, subjecting the pope to have to deal with him, responsible for Obama being president.

Half of all Catholics in this country voted for BO twice. If they had not, he would not be in the White house. So who is responsible for all of this?

Obama would be dealing in a craps game in Chicago if this country were on the right track.

Yes, they don't know because he remains silent on these issues and condones excessive and continued evil every time he allows these leaders to use the Church for their own nefarious reasons.

What people want is for the pope to act as a leader. To denounce evil in society and to point out those who deal in it and why. Most importantly, to do so publicly and in forums that requires the media to take notice.

It is called fear. It is called cowardice and it is shameful that the Vicar of Christ is a shameful coward in the face of Earthly evil clocked in political power. It is truly unfortunate that far too many Pontiffs have been just as cowardly as this one. As most of us are.

Christ showed no fear in the face of evil. Neither did Peter or Paul. The Martyrs of the Faith cry out for leadership from the feckless money changers in the Curia. Their cries have gone unanswered long enough.

Perhaps if the Pope acted like a true leader, a man of true faith and conviction, and cast out the money changers along with the demons he consorts with in the public realm the World would start to take notice.

BTW. There has never been a democratic legalization of abortion in America as it was decided by black robed political lawyers masquerading as judges. The way that abortion was legalized was anything but democratic.

If you think the media is going to speak for the pope, honestly, and that it’s the pope’s fault if they don’t, you are not paying attention, so stop wasting time.

Much like the GOP, it is the Pope's fault that he is unable to get his message to his flock. He is at fault and he is the one wasting time. Worse he is legitimizing evil and for that I fear he may pay a very high personal price. A hand shake and smile for the minions of evil only adds legitimacy to the evil and cloaks the evil in respectability.

While he wastes time more and more souls are doomed to eternal damnation because he is too cowardly to act like a leader and a man of conviction. Instead he acts like a quisling politician.

A well placed rebuke forces the media to pay attention. There isn't a media source in the entire World that wouldn't give hours of time and gallons of ink to a story that has the leader of the largest religious and charitable institution that has ever been rebuking the leader of the most powerful nation on the face of the Earth and giving actual reasons as to why he can not legitimize evil and why what the POTUS AND THOSE POLITICIANS LIKE HIM continue to stand for is wrong and what the proper road ahead should be.

Instead he and his predecessors have the habit of putting out long, flowery and very dense encyclicals that almost no one reads and fewer could ever understand.

Every one understands when Kim Kardashian verbally bitch slaps a fellow media whore because she has a good publicist.

He is the one giving Obama respect. He is the one condoning his behavior by remaining publicly silent when his chance to do great good is given.

So, Obama admires the Pope very much, “but that doesn’t mean we agrees on all the issues.”

The arrogance is that the issues that they are not in agreement with are of paramount importance to human life and liberties.

Obama is a dunce.
