I think you need to read up on Chavez and find out what he did "to his people", and who he thought were his friends.
I was surprised he was born in America. I thought he was an illegal alien. Surprised me when I saw the trailer at the movies last week.
My F-I-L was a Human Resources Director for one of the big Growers in CA way back when.
He and Cesar Chavez hated each other with a passion. I think my F-I-L still hates his worm infested guts today.
I’ll have to get his take on how the Hollywood Liberals push Cesar into Sainthood with this Movie, but I doubt I will be able to get my F-I-L to see a moment of it.
Funny, I believe both he and Chavez served in the U.S. Navy.
Neither was Rep Barbara Jordan in favor of amnesty and the media traitors ignore her too. NumbersUSA uses her policy statement that immigration policy should be based upon our national interests, is on their home page.
Chavez made the word wetback a part of our everyday language.
That he did.
No.
He felt that illegals undermined his efforts to forcibly unionize farm workers. Apparently he helped those that were already here but wanted to stop more coming in.
Many in Mexico’s far left see their citizens leaving en masse as a matter of national pride.
You meant the Mexican Left are embarrassed at the mass exodus of their citizens, don’t you ?
Yes, I worded that poorly. What I meant is that some in the Mexican left would prefer it if they’re citizens would stop leaving.
But like Chavez did they help people already here, a few PRD (far left party in Mexico) people have been involved in pro-illegal shenanigans here in Chi.
THEIR citizens. ;)
The bigger issue is the actor who portrays Chavez, Michael Pena.
Check into his background and his affiliation with a “group” that at the present treats its staff worse than the pre-Chavez farmworkers! Hypocricy?

Have a look at the link provided in post #32.
Have a look at the working hours and living restrictions enforced on members of the “Sea Org,” then consider the implications if the lead actor in the Chavez pic Michael Pena should be asked by the press to compare it to what Chaves reportedly fought against.

We may know each other. I was in YAF starting in the early 70s and running through the early 80s. Served on Platform Committee at 3 YAF National Conventions and did two years on the NY YAF State Board. I also founded a community chapter in New York and a chapter at my alma mater, Hillsdale College.
