Thursday's network morning shows tripped over themselves in their rush to fawn over President Obama meeting Pope Francis for the first time at the Vatican. At the top of ABC's Good Morning America, co-host Robin Roberts touted how the President "feels a special bond with the Pontiff." On NBC's Today, chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd spoke of an "ideological comfort level" between the two leaders, while on CBS This Morning, White House correspondent Major Garrett described their "genuine connection." While ABC, NBC, and CBS provided a combined 14 minutes 30 seconds of coverage to the papal meeting on Thursday, only 2 minutes 21 seconds of that air time referred to the fundamental disagreements between Obama and the Pope on a host of issues. Instead, the morning broadcasts chose to play up the "common ground" between the two men on issues of "income inequality" and "social justice."

Yes...it sarcasm.
Special bond? I sincerely doubt that Pope Francis has any ‘special bond’ with the man who voted 3 times AGAINST legislation that would protect babies who survived abortion from being killed. Any ‘special bond’ might be that the Pope may pray for the salvation of Obama’s severely compromised soul if only Obama would repent.
Is a “special bond” anything like a treasury bond? Is Obama hitting up the Pope for a special collection next Sunday for morally and fiscally bankrupt countries?
Sad to say but all the work those two did plus Margaret Thatcher might have been all done in vain.
Special bond:
The Pope is pleasant and kind;
Obama likes people who are pleasant and kind.
He thinks they are fools to do his bidding.
They can't be here physically with us right now but their truth still pervades.
More like the pope meeting Lucifer.
Time for an exorcism of the Vatican, just in case.
I agree with what you’re saying but our world leaders today have nowhere near the vision, strength, and fortitude those three had.
The fact of the matter is that this president feels a special bond with the mainstream media in this country. And its no wonder; they spin all stories in his favor.
The MSM is Public Enemy #1. They are corrupt enablers of an out-of-control administration. They have put their liberal sympathies ahead of the interests of the country.
Pontiff seeks counsel with Obama over biblical interpretations.
THE DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER
A “come to Jesus” moment for the pope...
I agree. They foisted this fraud on us, and they do all in their power to prop him up. Obama could never have been elected without the non-stop slobbering exultation of the MSM crowd.
That, and the MSM's non-stop 24/7 'celebration' of the Sodomite sin condition -- certainly makes them Public Enemy #1.
If the MSM would do its job (i.e., asking hard/probing questions of political leaders of both parties and being skeptical about government’s intentions) the country would be in a much better state. They are supposed to be vigilent watchdogs, and be willing to bite anyone who deceives. Instead they are guardians of the liberal agenda.
IMHO an independent, objective press is essential to a functioning democracy. I doubt that concept is taught in J schools today.

Vatican statement on meeting of Pope Francis and President Obama
(Vatican Radio) The Vatican Press Office has released a statement on Thursday mornings meeting between Pope Francis and U.S President Barack Obama. The statement notes that the two leaders discussed current international themes and expressed the hope that in areas of conflict there would be respect for humanitarian and international law and a negotiated solution between the parties involved.
The statement goes on to say that in the context of bilateral relations between the U.S. and the Holy See, the Pope and the President discussed questions of particular relevance for the Church in that country, such as the exercise of the rights to religious freedom, life and conscientious objection, as well as the issue of immigration reform. Finally the statement notes that Pope Francis and President Obama spoke of a common commitment to the eradication of human trafficking.
