White House and Kremlin seem to have different recollections of Obama-Putin call
Wash Post ^ | 3-28-2014 | Adam Taylor

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama spoke on the phone. Given recent tensions over Ukraine and Crimea, dialogue seems like a good thing. However, were the two presidents really talking to each other? After reading the two official statements about the call, it sounds like they got some wires crossed or something.

How does Obama expect to be respected by any foreign leaders, when he makes such gross mistakes? In foreign affairs, it’s unforgivable. No wonder rhat Putin doesn’t take him seriously.

It reminds me of a Western journalist explaining to Putin that NATO wanted to install a shield anti-missile in central Europe, to defend it from ... Iran!
Putin couldn’t stop laughing .

I believe Ukraine can say goodbye to their Eastern and Southern provinces, if not the whole nation, entirely. Losing their center of industry (Kharkov), shipping (Odessa), and food processing (Izmail) would be crushing to any hopes of true independence.

The very idea that nations should be comprised of contiguous peoples after such a long history of alternating waves of conquest and revolt is a pipe dream. No matter what happens, somebody winds up oppressed. It is the human condition.

The system set to be installed in Poland were mid-course interceptors. They would not have been effective in defending the US from Russian ICBMs due to the ballistic path mismatch. If they wanted to protect Europe from Russian short and medium range missiles, THAAD would be a better option. The missile defense destroyers recently deployed to the Med are there to send a message to Iran, as are the radar stations in Turkey.

Russia has been historically against any effort by the US to develop and implement a missile defense system. Why? Simple: Since 1973, their military hardware and doctrine have been defeated. In a head to head matchup against the Weat in a conventional war, they'd lose badly, even in the deteriorating conditions in which the US military currently finds itself.

The only true threat they pose is their large nuclear arsenal. Negating that with a defense system diminishes them considerably.

Ukraine a biggest problem right now is their lack of unity on seemingly any issue. It appears to be a collection of fractious mobs, none of which look capable of governing effectively.

Funny how that is.

The Vatican and the 0bamanoids seem to have a differing account of his Zeroness’ chat with the Pope:

Only God knows for sure: Obama, pope differ on accounts of ‘social schisms’ talk

Just a coinky dink, I'm sure.

It said these individuals were “committing acts of intimidation towards peaceful residents, government authorities and law enforcement agencies... with impunity”.

Same could be said about Teen Feral Mobs roaming city streets in America, which Zero is reluctant to stop!

The former head of President Reagan’s anti-missile defense Pentagon program, Colonel Robert Bowman said in 2009, that the developing of a US Anti-Missile Defense “shield” around Russia, far from being defensive, is offensive in the extreme.

A Russian Topol-12M mobile nuclear missile. In the worst case scenario, a nuclear missile could be fired in to space that would release a pulse large enough to paralyse, for instance, Great Britain’s infrastructure, defence experts warn .

Russia could also deploy Iskander missiles, which are believed to have a range of more than 300 miles, in the Kaliningrad exclave that borders EU members Poland and Lithuania. The same missiles could also be deployed in southern Russia close to Georgia and Turkey.

It is better not to poke the bear in the ribs.

The supposed Lavrov-Kerry talks being discussed are a ruse. Russia will find a way to object to something being required by the US, it will be portrayed as the fault of the US, and once again Obama has been played. Putin would not have called Obama if he didn’t think he could play him.
