A man was fatally shot in the city's South Side in the Bronzeville neighborhood, and at least 13 others were wounded during shootings citywide over 36 hours Friday and Saturday.
Most recently, about 7:30 a.m. in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, a 19-year-old man was shot in the upper thigh in the 3500 block of West Hirsch Street, according to police. Chicago Police News affairs Officer Jose Estrada said the man was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in an unknown condition.
In addition to the gunshot victim, another 19-year-old man was the victim of a battery when he was pistol whipped by the same person who shot the other man, police said. The battery victim was listed in good condition, police said.
Chicago Fire Chief Joe Roccasalva listed that man's condition as serious to critical and also said a second victim was taken in fair-to-serious condition to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.
It was not clear if the second victim was shot or wounded in another way.
Earlier, in the city's Belmont Gardens neighborhood on the Northwest Side, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the calf about 4:50 a.m. in a gang-related attack, said News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic.
The boy was a passenger inside a vehicle in the 4000 block of West Fullerton Avenue when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside it shouted gang slogans at the boy's car before firing shots at it. The boy was driven to Our Lady of The Resurrection Medical Center where he was listed in good condition. No one is in custody, according to Sedevic. Chicago Fire Chief Joe Roccasalva listed that man's condition as serious to critical and also said a second victim was taken in fair-to-serious condition to St Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.

So in other words, it’s just another weekend in Obamaland.
I was born on the South Side - 87th & Essex.. It was a nice Polish neighborhood in 1950. Now it’s a jungle of savages.
How many shootings do they usually have at the Polish Fest?
Leroy Brown?
If only a community organizer from one of these neighborhoods could become President.
Oh, wait.
In defense of the boy, the last time I was out at 4:50 a.m. when I was 16, I was on my way home from smelt dipping. I'm giving the kid the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was coming home from smelt........oh wait, they're not running yet. Maybe he was ice fishing?
Not very good shooting. The usual military ratio is one dead per 3 wounded.
Prolly just got off from workin' the night shift.
(or not)
Well Leroy is the baddest man in the whole damn town. Perfect suspect.
Obama is our nation’s drug lord. Bottom line.
I didn't think the R.O.E. over there allowed it.
Rather than pull out invade and pacify. We can do it!
Just a tune-up for the coming summer months.
Mrs. OldPossum is a native of Chicago. I was last there in 2005 and that's because I had to be there for that one occasion; I never will step foot in that fair city again. It has to do with self-preservation.
R O E are usually political and not to win the war and come home safely...I have read some of the R O E for our men in Nam and it was not even to protect those that were sent...President Johnson once said....nothing bets bombed unless I say so.....he was a basturd for CIC. God help us when a democrat is CIC
Hmmm. I was loading my paper route. Guess kids don't do that stuff anymore.
The suck-obuma’s-butt traitor Rahm refuses to unleash the CPD to take care of the city’s problems, mainly black savages who are killing good Chicago citizens.
I know a number of the Second City’s cops, and they hate Rahm’s stinky obuma-loving butt.
that would mean a job, which means “work” and none of these types would ever be caught dead working a job...but I guess just being caught dead doing nothing would be okay...
