The Soviets & the Nazis collaborated until they finally ended up going to war against each other. The Soviets even returned some Jews that had fled Germany, knowing what was about to happen.
This article is just another attempt to tar Republicans. Did GHW Bush really know the beliefs of that group? Did Reagan? Not likely. They’d been allowed into the country & they would’ve assumed they’d been vetted as far as any Nazi past. This is just like using red to signify the Republican Party, when it’s a color far more appropriate to the Democrat Party today.
The Soviets tried to stop the Nazis from 1933-39. France and Britain tried to steer Hitler East. Until August 1939, the Soviets tried to forge an alliance with Poland, UK and Britain against Hitler. Poland said no.
