Beta blockers are very cheap, safe, and have been proven to reduce the risk and slow the advancement of hypertensive disease.

Basic diuretics are cheaper yet.

Mine are only $4.00 per month and a diuretic does not protect from the effects of adrenaline on heart tissue as my high bp and pvcs are from anxiety. Beta blockers also can actually strength the heart muscle by forcing it to work more efficiently.
