Another ‘Nation Building’ gone bad
Yes, but this one was initiated with evil intent.
The Globalists behind the overthrow of Gaddafi, a man who did a lot to build up Libya and North Africa, are born nation wreckers. Wait until they get through with the Ukrainians.
The problem in Libya when viewed from afar is one of perspective.
The tendency is to take a very narrow, short term view. The concept of a new instantaneous republic is ridiculous because of opposing views finally able to be expressed. Absent an iron fisted dictator, there will always be a transition during which things get jostled and settled.
Consider the United States of America for instance. It took 7 years or so for things to settle out in a constitution that was agreeable to enough people to allow acceptance and stability.
Two of the main sticking points were the issue of dealing with states rights and slavery. It took another 60 years and a violent war to resolve that issue.
Scoffing at the transition in Libya or Iraq illustrates a view so narrow as to be meaningless.

btw....... the issue of States Rights has still not been settled and is a strong point of disagreement some 230 years after winning the revolution.

The situation in Libya is not as bad as it looks. Remember what the president said: “After four decades of darkness, they (the Libyan people) can walk the streets, free from a tyrant.” Fouad Ajami, a senior fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institute wrote in the Wall Street Journal, “Who, today, does not thrill to the spectacle of freedom in Tripoli.” This is the result of the “Arab Spring” doctrine. These are John McCains “heroes.”
Reagan wasn't perfect, but he was far better, stronger more reliable and trustworthy than any US President since his administration.
