The International Court of Justice has ordered a temporary halt to Japan's annual slaughter of whales in the southern ocean after concluding that the hunts are not, as Japan claims, conducted for scientific research.

I think they should stop too. But what if they don’t? What’s this kangaroo court going to do about it?

Whales I have no problem with NOT hunting them, most are peaceful krill eating giants of the ocean....

Now Dolphins, they are literally a bunch a genocidal sex crazed maniacs, kill as many Dolphins as they want and make ‘em into sushi I don;t care.

A whale is a cow is a pig is a chicken is a fish...as long as they are plentiful, no reason not to hunt them.

The Japanese thought they could sell this as “scientific research”? Seriously? Maybe a scientific study of which whale produces the best sushi.

They should make them use a rod and a reel with no fighting chair.

"Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two

A whale of a tale and it's all true

I think this is pretty much like an international court telling Americans, “No more hamburgers. No beef whatsoever.”

I know I’d say, “Really? Seriously? And, where in the Constitution does it say I have to follow some foreign court?”

Having said that, we have ceded our sovereignty to foreign courts by treaty. This is what the UN small arm’s treaty would do, give a foreign court the ability to allow our trading partners to inflict tariffs if local stores sell guns.

The scientific research angle makes as much sense as the ban on hunting the types they do.

Apparently 9th US court of appeals ordered that Sea Sheppard vessels could not come within 500 feet of Japanese Whaling Vessels. The enforcement was penalties for US citizens on the Ships...

I am still amazed that the Japanese have not been declared poachers.

International court: “Halt Antarctic whaling.”

Japan: “Stop us, jackwagons!”

“I am still amazed that the Japanese have not been declared poachers. “

What Japan is doing is at least legal. (For some given value of “legal.) The greenies have done some awesomely reckless and dangerous things that have endangered Japanese sailors. I’m astonished that Japan has not sent a DE to play bumpies with them. Or, that the whalers haven’t brought guns and fired at them. The greenies meet the definition of terrorist and should be treated accordingly.

Japan should tell the “International Community” what to do with itself. Including the United States.

This case started because Australia sued Japan for violating the International Whaling Treaty. The ICJ may not have the ability to enforce its judgment, but Australia might.

Good point! Maybe they should force the salmon industry to use rods and reels too............
