Covered Californias Executive Director Peter Lee testified before a Congressional committee about the successes of Covered California.
It takes, in our mind, three things for an exchange to work. It takes having affordable health plans delivering quality care, it takes effective marketing outreach, and it takes effective enrollment, Lee said.
Sadly though, Californians newly enrolled in Covered California are facing the grim reality that the care they are receiving is neither affordable, nor quality.
Few doctors are accepting the new health insurance plans, Californians say.
One Californian woman told KPIX-CA, This is not what we were promised.

Cry me a river.
B!tch.
Its called reality
Deal with it
It is only going to get worse.
What else can marxists do when reality gets in their way?
Translation: "I dun got my free bamafone, now where be my free bamacare?"
Only a lib could watch pictures of Soviet citizens waiting in line for non-existent bread and think that the problem is too little government involvement.
“Next will come the laws that enslave doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers, mandating their time and services and putting caps on their pay.”
I’m sure that’s going to work out well. Are you envisioning medical FEMA camps? Should doctors be forced to wear the equivalent of a yellow star? Just think how many more doctors will retire early and leave the country. The ones that do actually stay won’t be working very hard.
Two quotes to keep in mind:
They pretend to pay and we pretend to work.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
This can be easily fixed. Just tell doctors that they either will provide services under Obamacare or will be taxed the amount of their income. Problem solved. [/sarc]
Why do people sign up for CoveredCalifornia (ObamaCare) here in California?
One guy I know...Obama cancelled his insurance, so he had no choice.
A lady was paying $313/month. Starting 1April14, the insurer, Blue* raised her payment by 20%. More than she could afford. So she signed up for ObamaCare (Blue* Bronze Plan).
The actual coverage is pretty bad.
$5,000 deductible
high copays
less post-deductible/copay payments from insurer.
But with the ObamaCare subsidy I, you and others pay for, she has a $659/month bill (absurdly expensive for the given coverage) of which she only has to pay $1 (one dollar) per month and you, me and other taxpayers pay the other $658.
The Bronze Plan is worth a dollar a month.
Good deal for her (assuming she can find a doctor who will take the low ObamaCare reembursement rates).
Not so good for the rest of the Country.
Bottom line, the people signing up are those who had better coverage for less money, but Obama cancelled their coverage and so they had no choice.
And those getting large taxpayer-provided subsidies (insurance companies happy...they get big bucks for small coverage...but they wrote the law that way.)
When she was 16, she suddenly realized she wasn’t going to get the pony she’d always dreamed of. She’s still living in la-la land.
Don’t blame Obama. He inherited this problem... from Obama.
When you are thicker than a fence post a complicated concept of “unintended consequences” is way beyond your comprehension.
that’s what you idiots voted for
In the future, history teachers will tell their students, “They used to call them ‘doctors’.”
