RAND PAUL TO CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS: EVOLVE, ADAPT, OR DIE
Breitbart ^ | April 6, 2014 | GOP-e Sen. Rand Paul

Posted on 04/06/2014 5:43:23 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Evolve, adapt or die. That is the fate of our current Republican party. We must evolve as a party and find a way to attract millennials to the conservative movement or we will never succeed in realizing our ideals of individual freedom and freedom from government interference.

Initially, I received criticism from political pundits for speaking to non-traditional audiences. I was told it was a waste of time to reach out to these audiences, specifically students from both Howard University and University of California, Berkeley.

My response is this: I have never been one to watch the world go by without participating. I wake up each day hoping to make a difference.

You might be a Republican, Democrat or Independent. I speak before these audiences, not to preach or prescribe some special formula.

My intention is not to tell you what to be. You are more important than any political party or partisan pleadings. My intention is to motivate all Americans and defend their rights.

My hope is that in discussing these topics, more Americans will be open to the conservative message. A message that favors choice in education, a less aggressive foreign policy, more compassion regarding non-violent crime and encourages opportunity in employment.

As a conservative [*cough, *cough] politician, it is clear to me that we must start discussing these topics more with audiences that might not normally hear our message--specifically young adults and students.

Preaching to the choir is not working for the conservative movement. We are growing stale and moss-covered. We must evolve, adapt or die.

You may be correct about Californicate bring totally D country. But I’m not sure. The R party (Reagan as the clear exception) tends to nominate either totally dull drab boring country club empty suits. Or else known or suspected corruptoids. None can articulate a clear reason why anybody should bother voting for them.

Government has zero business providing free medical care or any other welfare. That is properly the sphere of charity.

Those two values are socialism.

If you don’t resist the progressive/homosexualist agenda, you might as well be pushing it. Because you are by default. Evil loves the lukewarm who don’t fight it.

He’s not for making all the illegals here citizens.

So making some of these criminal invaders citizens is fine and dandy? How many? A thousand? Ten thousand, a hundred-thousand, 5-million? The one and only principled stance is 100% deportation of these criminal invaders that have swarmed into America. EVERY...LAST...ONE...OF...THEM.

Don't talk about it! Just do it!

Reagan was attractive because of his wit, humor and clarity.

Ted Cruz is attractive for the same reasons.

You, Monsieur Paul, seem content to wag your finger at American conservatives who form the majority in this nation.

Stop sermonizing and try walking your talk!

***Lead*** the party Mr. Paul, stop talking about it.

But there's one problem with your leadership; not many want to follow. That's not the party's problem, that's your problem.

If you want to suck up to the illegal vote and the millenial vote, there's a democrat party for you to defect to, or a RINO establishment that will be happy to squeeze your cheeks.

”If you wish to reach out to them, reach out with the TRUTH!”

He is focusing on issues like choice in education and government surveillance to bring them in.

Everybody should read his Berkeley speech. There is nothing in it promoting homosexuality or abortion. Many people here have been misinformed about what he said. The MSM is trying to take him out.

To finish my post the government has no business in marriage, drug laws, or my personal property. There should be no BATFW, Dept of energy, education, homeland security, and the NSA, and CIA should only look at other countries. Our borders should be secure, and i say no to soo many things the govt is doing now. I believe the difference between conservatives and liberteraians are the latter are consistent in their beliefs, not picking and choosing the areas for big govt, I am always against big govt.

A verbal endorsement goes a lot further than - and is not the same as - a PAC donation.

His PAC also gave to Jim Inhofe, Jim Risch for Senate, Friends of Mike Lee and to Tim Scott. Donating to your own co-Senator - or any candidate - is NOT a verbal endorsement. Many PACs make donations without making outright, verbal endorsements. Look it up.

If it were up to me there are about 6 or 7 things the govt would do, and that would be it. Military, Highways, Courts (all LE should be sherriffs no city police,), and noone go hungry or with out med care.

You were doing quite well until you neared the end of that list? No one go hungry or without medical care? Huh? Neither are the role of the government in any way, shape or form. The Bible, upon which rests America's foundation makes it quite clear:

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. -- II Thessalonians 3:10

The trend there is really ugly.

Candidates like DiFi and Boxer who won 20 yrs ago by a couple points win by 20+ now.

Here’s the D percentage in POTUS elections:
92 46%
96 51%
00 53%
04 54%
08 61%
12 60%

I did not say make the choices, but if someone does not have insurance for losing their job, and get a diagnosis of cancer or something, they should not have to do without medical care.

Good for you! I hope you like liberals in office.

If you think they’re going to start deporting “EVERY...LAST...ONE...OF...THEM,” you’re kidding yourself.

In 5 years, I want you to remember that I told you they’re not going to deport 20 million of them. Remember that in 10 years too. It doesn’t matter who gets elected. They’re not going to deport 20 million illegals. The liberals in power would love nothing more than seeing 20 million people being deported on the news every night. It is not going to happen.

Illegals don’t deserve to be citizens. I wish they could all be sent back but reality says that’s not going to happen.

None of the above. Soup kitchens, if goverment-sponsored, are just a form of communism. A private charity may (or may not) opt to provide such a service but not one penny from the makers for the takers.

He endorsed after the primaries so that his followers will vote in the Fall for Cornyn against the democrat. Cruz did it because he wants republicans to take control of the Senate.

Cornyn is also a follower. He will follow what the leadership lays out.

Ok, I won`t argue with you. Cruz didn`t have the courage to endorse Cornyn publicly but was actually sending him money in private.

Rand Paul never sent money to McConnell. He only endorsed him because his primary opponent is a fruitcake who will lose the general election to the commie rat.

Yeah, well, we’ll see. I’ve heard him speak before when he was more honest in his beliefs. He’s hushed up some about his liberaltarian gay rights, open borders colors, but I’m sure it will come more to the forefront as he “evolves and adapts” and panders to the moderates, progressives, squishes, gays, illegals and brainwashed youth. And if he’s “Christian” yet panders to the homosexualists, then there’s no doubt he’ll also pander to the abortionists when he thinks it’s to his advantage. Best be honest and straightforward and truthful. If God’s Truth isn’t good enough for a “leader” to win, then we’ve got bigger problems.

Operation Wetback was very effective and, yes, I'm old enough to remember it from the 1950s. A brave, principled Conservative should revive it and start sending the criminal invaders back. One a hundred-thounsand or so are coerced in that manner, the rest of them will follow like lemmings. Since the 1950s, technology has now improved to the extent that version 2.0 of Operation Wetback will be an overwhelming success.

Note that my use of the term "criminal invaders" is deliberate. Even "illegal alien" is far too weak for me. It's really not much harsher than "illegal U-turn".
