A judicial official says an Egyptian court has convicted four men of committing homosexual acts and sentenced them to up to eight years in prison.

In all fairness, the Egyptian homosexuals have been a major nuisance to the Islamists, and sometimes have done so with a lot of wit.
For example, a bunch of them arranged a big party on a houseboat on the Nile. And they basically frolicked and had a good time, until they saw the police boats coming for them. Then they stowed all their costumes and other incriminating evidence, or pitched it overboard.
They act shocked when the police arrested them anyway, but were ready for it, so that when when they were hauled before a judge and accused of homosexuality, they strongly protested that there was no evidence, and that they were just holding a legal party.
Then, the prosecutor chimed in that if it was an ordinary party, then why were there no women on board? And the trap was sprung.
They told the judge they were horrified that the prosecutor would suggest something so *immoral* and *anti-Islamic* as a mixed gender party! And they demanded that the judge cite the prosecutor for calling for public indecency.
Thinking quickly, the judge dismissed the case.
You have to appreciate anyone who so successfully “cheeks the constabulary” like that.
In the early days of our republic, we executed them. Up until just a handful of years ago, they were shamed and imprisoned. And they still should be. “Tolerating” them is no different to God than “tolerating” murderers.
Or adulterers.
Or those who covet.
Or those who lie or steal.
If only they diddled little boys, it would have been perfectly okiley-dokiley over there.

As early as 1960, in high school, Thursday was known as "queer day", I never understood why and we had zero known queers in our small town high school.
I've wondered if anyone else had heard of this that far back.
See how compassionate I am? I didn't say, "brand them" or, "tattoo it" on their foreheads, a simple ink stamp will do.
Failure to comply might bring monetary penalties, proceeds to go to charities.
Some folks say there is a whale of a lot of hypocrisy going on with respect to this, but at least they nominally identify it as an evil. Which is better than a lot of US solons.
I thought they would be charged with not walking like an Egyptian.
