I guess he could try to influence more of the YgenXers by collaborating with younger artists, but regardless....Strait has been producing chart topping hits for over 30 years. That’s an incredible accomplishment as well as a testimony of the popularity of good ol country music.
He’s a source to be respected.
If followers in his footsteps aren’t appearing, then he could view his mission before the Lord. Would he want to do more to try to encourage keeping the class in contemporary country? Would he be able to exercise leverage? He came from before the era of the porn minded pencil pushers, and once a force nothing was going to make him stop. He’s too valuable. Same for others in the classy mode.
On the other hand there’s also now the self publishing and self promotion angle, which was impractical a few decades ago. Obscure artists can now have a better chance to show merit.
