Members of German civil society have written an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, condemning Russophobia in mass media and German political establishment while showing support for Moscow's actions in the ongoing Ukrainian crisis.
Retired German Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Jochen Scholz wrote an open letter to the Russian leader in response to the speech Putin made on March 18, 2014 at the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The letter was cosigned by hundreds of Germans including lawyers, journalists, doctors, servicemen, scholars, scientists, diplomats and historians.
In that letter the German intellectuals said that Putin’s speech “appealed directly to the German people” and deserved a “positive response that corresponds to the true feelings of Germans.”
The letter acknowledges that the Soviet Union indeed played a decisive role in the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany and supported the reunification of Germany and its ascension into NATO after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact.
Then US President George Bush Sr. had given assurances to Russia that NATO will not expand eastward, and yet despite Moscow's show of trust, the US and its allies violated that commitment, Scholz says.

Here's a suggestion, how about attempting a concern approach, or even an appeal to authority? You know, such as: as a leading power, the US has global responsibilities, or, we need to allow the adults in the room to make critical decisions, or even, the republican system is dependent on enabling our "leaders" to act in the best interest of the public. I'm sure you get the idea; now get cracking!
As for your last pathetic attempt, perhaps I can provide a little constructive criticism so that you may perhaps be more effective in future posts.
You remind me of the bozos who years ago said there was no difference between the US and the USSR. Or the ones who said there was no difference between authoritarian regimes and totalitarian ones.

OK, so once you've established the set-up in the us-them quadrant, you resort to the very tired association of positive attributes, such as superior thinking ability and morality, with your assertion as to which nation is the best without any foundation as to that claim. If you want to believe that one power or another controls the media, then buy into the conspiracy. That’s for you, not smart people. Believe that FOX News is the same as CBS because Obama controls them, in your mind.
Well, what can I say, other than you missed a whole string of pejorative expressions, such as unfounded allegations, wild assertions, fanciful thinking, paranoid delusions, projecting from weakness, etc, etc. And really, smart people=don't buy into conspiracy allegation? Like I said above, you really need to re-work your act. It needs to be both more focused and more sophisticated. Perhaps you could arrange to have a poor gassed Syrian couple on Dancing with Stars? Or some recently dispossessed Nazi oops, Ukrainian, on 'Survivor - Russia'? With a tie-in to FB and Twitter feeds, you could monitor the sentiment of those jumping the line to send their kids off to another overseas war. Jeez, you could get really smarmy and claim it's "for the children".
The bottom line is, we live in a results oriented society, and you simply are not cutting the mustard. If my MIC derived dividend checks start suffering due to your pathetic incompetence, my Representative is going to be hearing from me.

‘Follow the money’ has been a buzz word for sometime, but there certainly is much truth to that, both Historically and today. Some things don’t change...just the faces.
Furthermore, when someone observes that RT is propaganda, and the response is "but MSNBC," it shows more intellectual vapidity than objectivity. In other words, "I read it all" is not an excuse for parroting one line over another.

Russia Today is the only neutral, balanced journalism in the world today.
Point out that RT is biased, and you become the problem . . . and start hearing for the need to "read everything."
Oh I think we can be selective over what we read or hear from the media and can still form an opinion be it biased or not.
I do think much of media ,though, is equally propaganda/biased in regards to who the owners of that media are...some events and news worthy articles will never be reported nor discussed among the pundits......other’s will run an event long after it’s dead news just to keep people engaged...while current news of significance is ignored.
Bottom line..profit and ownership of media makes it tick..and formulates public’s perspectives. If that were not so politicians wouldn’t spend billions on advertising in election cycles, with those who support and finance them...then shuffle the revenues throughout these conglomerates to whatever cause here and abroad they desire.
So where do we go from here?

Is there any particular reason why I should be lend credence to a media company that is literally owned by the Russian government? Is the fact that RT is owned by the Russian government a reason why I should tend to believe what it reports? Is there reason to believe that RT publishes anything that would not meet with the approval of Putin? I think these are the proper questions to ask.

Readers should keep in mind, and very carefully note, the Bible verse regarding money and the “root of all evil”:
Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
It is the LOVE of money that the Bible tells us is the root of all evil; not the money itself.
Note the 10th commandment, to not be covetous. The Exodus reference:

We are commanded to not covet that which is not ours.
Many folks don’t want to be branded as “conspiracy wackos”, so they tend to not want to dig for information about the history of international banking. One has to understand the basic strategies, i.e., debt, taxes, etc., first, and ignore the aliens, racist stuff, etc., which is all mixed in there to make references to Rockefellers and Rothshchilds seem foolish.
What’s impossible to dispute is things like annual balance sheets from the East India Company, copies of Herbert Hoover’s personal correspondance, etc.; source documents and first-rate primary research, like that of Antony Sutton. As far as things rumored or generally held to be true, but not officially attested to by all parties, like Zaharoff pimping his own wife to Lloyd George, one can only guess as to their veracity - but after centuries of similar patterns... it doesn’t take much to predict that the sun will rise in the morning.
Precious metals are the fallback for international banking’s hold on governments, since the bankers can not let governments act on the idea of them creating their own money. If governments create their own money - they don’t need to borrow from the bankers.
So the bankers have the “conservatives” and “libertarians” support the idea that paper money is “worthless” unless it is “backed” by a precious metal, which means that all new government-created money would be spent buying gold from the bankers to “back” it. This would keep the full burden of debt repayment on the taxpayer/slave - and cause the market price of gold to skyrocket.
Many German intellectuals, like the former Chancellor and Foreign Minister, are probably on Russia’s payroll.

Beyond that if you prefer Russia to the USA, that's fine. There were plenty of Americans who preferred the USSR, too. You could go live there, like Snowden did.
The whole purpose of the Russian media today is to serve the interest of Putin, probably the richest man in the world. I’m opposed to autocracy, and the lame remake of the USSR hasn’t fooled me with it’s pseudo conservatism.
