The manufacturers of one of the most common brands of rat and mice poison, d-Con, have sued state regulators just one week after California banned the pesticide and blamed it for killing wildlife.
Reckitt Benckiser, the UK-based consumer products company that makes d-Con, filed a lawsuit Thursday against the California Department of Pesticide Control for halting the sale of the rodenticide commonly used by homeowners to kill rats and mice.

When the environmentalists banned the use of DDT, there was no evidence at the time it was harming the bald eagles, like they claimed. There is still no evidence today. But the ban did result in the death of thousands of humans from Malaria.
They haven’t banned cats however.
Even humans from elsewhere than Malaria died...
OK. A sick joke.
“Malaria”
Malays, or Malarians, are particularly suseptible to rat poison. Many Californians come from Malaria. So there it is.
do I still get to keep my gopher poison? cause if I do, I’m not worried about rats.
Their tourist industry isn’t doing so good. Something about the name maybe...
Used to have my parents mail me that stuff in Vietnam.
Can someone invent d-pol. Guaranteed to kill all politicians. I’d buy that in a second.

That’s right I have no desire or need to use poisons.
A rat would not last 10 seconds among the numerous cats at my place. Those 10 seconds would be all the time that my cats would need for them to ask the rat how he wants to die.
Best varmint bait there is.
They work. I did find that baiting them with peanut butter (which Victor suggests) does work, but eventually gums up the electrodes (from the oil separating out). Been using stale cookies, bits of pie crust, bread heels - rats and mice still are enticed to their shocking end and I don't need to clean the oil gook out of the trap to keep it working.
I have both. Good thing is that I know when I have a guest that has, um, checked in then passed out in my hotel... Better than them gorging themselves on DCon and then dying up inside the wall (old farmhouse - definitely not rodent proof.) Home depot has the Victor unit, had to purchase the Rat Zapper on line.
You just need to keep the unit dry... For them, a whole peanut or a chunk of walnut you steal from your wife's baking stock works fine... Wife thought they were cute and wouldn't let me, um, 'discourage' them. Until she planted a bunch of tulip bulbs. She came out the next morning and over night, Chip, Dale, and all their brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a few homeless vagabonds had dug up every single one of the newly planted tulip bulbs leaving little depressions in the dirt where the bulb once was and pieces of brown husk off the bulb. Now she is ok with offering the extended Chip n Dale family free lodging in my fine hotel..
(She also thought the bambis were cute. Until they ate her roses down to the ground. Ever since then bambis seem to suffer heart failure, gut themselves, and jump into my freezer whenever they approach the house. It's the strangest thing...)
I have this thing called the Constitution. California Rats can’t stand it
