An army of liberal trolls: Elmore warns we mustn't discount 'tidal wave of hate' presented online
WorldNetDaily ^ | April 9, 2014 | Phil Elmore

There’s a reason popular culture matters. It’s because it is not what politicians say that changes minds. The opinions of your fellow human beings are formed through their interactions with technology. From the moment you first get your news from Twitter to the hours you while away looking at shared opinions and entertainment on Facebook, from the stories that are carefully selected for your television news to the radio commercials you listen to, from the pop-up “surveys” you see on your monitor to the lyrics in the pop songs you play on Pandora, your default opinions are formed in this background noise, this wash of attitudes and presumptions that comprise your laundry list of assumptions about life.

The left understands just how powerful is this technological lever when moving society’s opinion. To this end, the libs, the leftists, the “progressives,” employ – figuratively if not literally – an army of trolls. Their mission is to scream more loudly, to squawk more belligerently, to rail more vociferously against any voice they dislike. Any statement of conservative or libertarian opinion must be shouted down through online comments and rebuttal, because to permit conservatives free speech is to concede that there might be two sides to an argument. It is to admit that a right-wing voice might be as legitimate, as socially acceptable, as a left-wing voice....

Yup Two. First, libs have done this for years. I learned all about it in the 90s fighting the usenet wars against the eco nuts. Second, look at the hate Palin gets here on FR and look how many GOP sycophants scream in exactly the manner the article describes each and every thread where someone mentions breaking away from the plantation.

Anyone thinking the two are not one and the same should take a seat between the Mad Hatter and the March Hare.

I agree with this article. Ever since the 60s the culture has been slowly headed south. Since our institutions have been taken over by progressives who have turned right into wrong and wrong into right, lack of real critical thinking skills, as well as propagandized news organizations, I thank God every day for sites like FR and talk radio.

One need only read two things to see how we got here. The 1963 communist goals and Robert Greene’s 48 Laws of power.

The 1963 goals are almost all in effect in America and they spoke of exactly what has happened since. Greene’s book is Machiavelli on steroids and is a look into the mindset of people obsessed with power and control. There is a reason so many in power swear by it.

The natural tendency of libs/leftists is to try and shut down all speech they don’t agree with. Just libs being libs.

There is only one way liberals will shut me down and that is to put me six feet under. I will defy them to my dying day.

First, I don't think that any here "hates" Sarah Palin. Watch out, or you'll find yourself on the same philosophical side of those who define "hate" as anyone who doesn't agree with them.

Most here who don't think that Palin is Presidential material don't "hate" her. We love her conservatism and her stand for it.

After several years of the PDS wars, I assure you “hate” is exactly what some freepers have for Palin. How soon people forget Pissant.

Zotted 3 or 4 years ago. Seriously. He made direct lesbian references about Palin and IIRC, Tammy Bruce.

THAT boy hated Palin in every sense of the word. But he has several protiges that seem to have evolved the skill to avoid lightning though I can’t figure out how or why.
