Ok Jeff, what are you going to do about it? Ted Cruz can't keep shouldering the burden.

More appropriately, what is McConnell going to do about it?

That's right, Jeff! Will you stand shoulder to shoulder with Ted Cruz and Mike Lee? They need help. If you do, you will instill courage in other senators and congressmen to fight the takedown of America by the Obama regime.

This from a guy who stood up for Eric Holder when he was confirmed to say “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”?

Why should anyone support this knucklehead when he already showed his true colors?

Jeff Sessions has been at it long before Cruz came along. We need more Senators like both of them. There is only so much a few Senators can do in a Congress full of dems and RINOs.

Years ago, way back when the country and Americans—even those who didn’t vote for him—were willing to give Obama a chance, Sessions acted like the statesman and patriot he is and approved the president’s choice ...
unlike Democrats who oppose election results and Republican nominations until the last dog dies.

Senator Sessions is a stud duck and a credit to the Senate.
Many thanks to the great state of Alabama for Jeff Sessions!

Can you really be that uninformed? No one has done more on this issue than Senator Sessions, since the first W amnesty push in 2006. He's about the only one in the Senate speaking out on it now, and I like Ted Cruz, but his policy on illegal aliens and amnesty is not at all clear from what some have posted here.

I hope every criminal who entered our country illegally is aware that on January 20, 2017, we are likely to get a real president again. At that point, the criminals who register in any way as parasites being supported by those who work will be easy to find and deport. I hope that fear will limit the number who take advantage of Obama’s corrupt administration. The rule of law will eventually be restored.

Eric Holder was appointed as judge in the District in '88 by Ronny and by all accounts did his job most dutifully. Even prosecuted a Dem Congressman as well as being in on Rostenkowski's prosecution. He spent a good majority of his time in the private sector around D.C. and did well. It was when WJClinton appointed him Deputy AG that his inner Golem came out. From Sessions perspective at the time, he was a good choice.

Obama does not want to collapse the law enforcement system. He wants all law enforcement to be his own personal jack boots against the citizens.

Your prodding is partly on target. I too have been disappointed that Sen. Sessions has not stirred up more of a fuss. However, he has been consistently against amnesty.

Good, good. He’s taking it a step further. That’s certainly better than most. Usually if a congress member speaks against the tyranny, it’s the first and last time he does. Or worse than that, Boehner- first he speaks for it, then says he’s against it, then says he was really for it but was pressured to speak against it.

We just need more congress members with a freakin SPINE to stand up against the tyranny!

In my case, it is because he is the best that AL has been able to put in the U.S. Senate. There aren't too many GOP U.S. Senators with stronger conservative voting records.

Now, having defended Sen. Sessions, I will say that I, too, wish he was more a pit bull like Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Sorry, it just is not in his nature. I wrote Sessions back in 2009 to tell him that I was absolutely opposed to Eric Holder and wanted his nomination killed in committee. Sessions wrote back with the opinion that every POTUS has the right to nominate who he prefers, i.e., an automatic approval by the Senate committee. Sessions did vote against Holder when the nomination was brought before the whole Senate.

I like Sessions very much, but his 1st vote in the Senate committee always bothered me. It seems he prefers to fight by gentleman rules while the Dems are nothing but jailhouse brawlers.

MEXICAN CARTELS STRIKE DEEP INSIDE U.S.

‘Outgunned’ sheriffs confront human trafficking, kidnapping, prostitution

By Kelly Riddell

The Washington Times 4/9/2014

Outmanned and outgunned, local law enforcement officers are alarmed by the drug and human trafficking, prostitution, kidnapping and money laundering that Mexican drug cartels are conducting in the U.S. far from the border.

U.S. sheriffs say that securing the border is a growing concern to law enforcement agencies throughout the country, not just those near the U.S.-Mexico boundary.

“If we fail to secure our borders, then every sheriff in America will become a border sheriff,” said Sam Page, sheriff of Rockingham County, N.C. “We’re only a two-day drive from the border and have already seen the death and

violence that illegal crossings brings into our community.”
Sheriff Page, whose county has about 94,000 residents, noted that a Mexican cartel set up one of its drug warehouses about a mile from his home.

“These men are coming into our county with more firepower than I have,” he said Wednesday. “I’m literally outgunned.”

The sheriff in North Carolina was one of several from across the country attending Hold Their Feet to the Fire, an annual two-day radio confab in Washington organized by the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Rusty Fleming, a spokesman for the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, is on the front lines of the border battle and said the U.S. side is losing.

“These cartels are so sophisticated. They’re getting affluent white teenagers to help them encrypt their software; they do digital money-laundering, can hack into government databases and actively recruit our agents to keep one step ahead. The rest of America is just now getting a taste of what we’ve been dealing with for years,” Mr. Fleming said.

He estimates that cartels have infiltrated more than 3,000 U.S. cities and are recruiting local gangs, former prisoners and teenagers to do their dirty work.

“There’s no doubt they’re spreading themselves very rapidly and very deep into our U.S. interior,” said Mr. Fleming, who directed the documentary “Drug Wars” and has testified before Congress about the drug trade.

Sheriff Page said Rockingham County has jailed 194 illegal immigrants on criminal charges since 2010. Of those arrested, 10 were released and later rearrested. Six were deported only to re-enter the country, re-establish themselves in his neighborhood and get rearrested.

North Carolina has the second-busiest drug trafficking route in the South, after the region around Atlanta.
“We can’t have open borders,” Sheriff Page said. “We need to track who’s coming in and out of our country. If we don’t know who’s here, how are we going to protect ourselves?”
Law enforcement officers in Frederick County, Md., are experiencing firsthand the proliferation of cartels.
“It’s a huge problem for our public safety and a growing problem in our jurisdiction,” Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said. “The federal government can’t take care of this problem alone. Every state and law enforcement officer needs to be able to enforce immigration laws to be effective.”

About 9 percent of Frederick County arrests involve illegal immigrants, according to the sheriff’s office.

Since entering into an agreement with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in early 2008, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has detained 1,250 illegal immigrants, 50 of whom have had connections to Mexican drug cartels and organized crime, Sheriff Jenkins said.

The rest of the history...

We must keep after our "leaders," support the right politicians, and get organized. I know it's easier said than done. However, we must not give up and take a defeatist attitude.

I forgot who posted her about a book, ""Rules for Patriots" by Steve Deace and highly recommended it. I have not read it yet.

“Years ago, way back when the country and Americans—even those who didn’t vote for him—were willing to give Obama a chance, Sessions acted like the statesman and patriot he is and approved the president’s choice ...”

Then Sessions violated the Constitution he swore to uphold by not properly vetting someone who already proved himself politically-corrupt during Clinton’s term.

What you are saying is the liberal mantra: Results do not matter, only the good intentions do.

You won’t find Ted Cruz making that stupid mistake BTW.

Still backing Sessions’ “gentlemenly demeanor” while the man he voted for is destroying this country?

We need a Ted-Cruz style of engagement, not a go-along-with-it type. Jeff Sessions did this country no service by not directly attacking Holder’s known politicized record.

Quote
A veteran Justice Department lawyer says that Attorney General Eric Holder has politicized the department in a way he hadn’t seen before. In short, “Holder is the worst person to hold the position of attorney general since the disgraced John Mitchell.”

I hesitate to respond because my 2 postings on this thread have been very clear that I while support Sessions, I am very disappointed by his letting Eric Holder's nomination go to Senate vote. Does your name mean you are from Texas? If so, then you have a lot of explaining to do with that milquetoast RINO, Jon Cornyn. Yes, I too want a conservative firebrand to tackle Chuck Schumer head on. I continue to follow Ted Cruz with much interest.

you make my point.

Cornyn and Sessions are the same poltical stripe - be civil while your opposition goes nuclear. Sessions is better overall and I too was very disappointed in his vote for Holder, and even more disappointed in his taking time to throw a compliment Holder’s way.

Ted would never do that, and attacks with facts.

I think we are on the same page - we need a different approach. If Sessions has seen the light, that is good
