We’ll see how soon the Lenin, Trotsky or Stalin of today will appear and take charge.

You are correct P2. Outlaw federal and state income tax . All state and federal property tax. Allow only retail sales tax set by the constitution at say 15% or so. Remove the ability of congress or any federal or state agency to tax. Allow the Feds to raise the sales tax in a national emergency. BUT three quarters of the states to approve the emergency tax hike. In general this will solve our tax problem and encourage the federal government to legislate for national prosperity.

The founders preferred high tariffs to fund the government. Let foreign factories pay for access to our market.

So, I guess it's Consumption taxes that must prevail.

Here in the People's Republic of New Jersey, IIRC the consumption (sales) tax was the camel's nose under the tent. We now pay through the nose for property taxes -- and sales tax, and income tax, and business tax, and a death tax... we have a lottery too, so New Jersey eve taxes the inability to understand math and statistics. :)

Only way to starve the monster is to leave or to to go Galt.

Vermont will be interesting to watch -- but with a population of 626,630 and the health care resources of New Hampshire and Massachusetts to rely on, I'm not sure any conclusions made from this experiment will be the correct ones.

The state used to be known for its machine tool and precision industries. Now it is known for maple syrup and lesbians.

In Vermont, they appeared a long time ago - the guy from the Chicago 7, Froines and his marxist, wife/child deserter friend, Lee Webb (I knew his wife).

Dave Dellinger, the Hanoi operative, moved their many decades ago along with hardcore reds and their weany marxist wannabes. That his how they took over the state.

Now, if the state takes on the marxist advocated and designed “singe payer health care plan”, we can say what a left-liberal financial angel of the Left (Martin Peretz of New Republic magazine) said when the Communist Party/Black extremists, took over the National Conference for New Politics. “They control it; let them pay for it”.

NCNP died out in a few years only to be resurrected as the “Socialist Scholars Conference” and eventually the marxist Democratic Socialists of America. (the DSA being the strongest marxist organization in the Obama election campaigns).

Just thought I’d throw in a little ideological history for you folks.

Drat! Maple syrup prices will probably skyrocket to help pay for it.
