The Bureau of Land Management vowed Saturday that it would continue its legal fight to remove illegal cattle from a rural Nevada range after ending a tense weeklong standoff with a rancher and his supporters.
"After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, [rancher Cliven] Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially," a statement from the bureau said. "We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner."

Good posts and important references. It’s important to not that the BLM has been acting in contravention of law and the objectives that you cite in order to force ranchers off the land. Their primary weapon has been the Endangered Species Act, but they use whatever works.
The same thing has been going on in the Forest Service and the National Park Service. The environmentalists have decided that all public land is reserved for them and for them alone. All other people and activities must be banned. Unless it’s a green energy scam, of course.

What really happened is the connection that was made regarding dirt harry and his son’s deals with the chinese and dolar farms. That would have looked bad. I spoke with my mother in Pittsburgh today and she hadn’t even heard about the standoff. The only news they had all week was the 16 yr old that stabbed all the kids in Maurraysville.

I'm a tax payer and Cliven Bundy doesn't owe me one damn cent, however Mochelle Obummer owes me a bunch for helping to pay the flying of her fat ass all around the world several times a year.
They ran anyway when the realized they were outgunned.
Nearly 1000 armed men showed up to support Bundy. MOST of the weapons were left in the vehicles, but they were handy.
If shooting had started every BLM officer there would have lost their life.
And every one of them knows it, as do their masters in DC.
It's certain what their approach will be next time: Send in DHS first with heavy hardware, arrest the ringleaders and seal the highways so reinforcements cannot arrive.
That's when you'll see the militias initiating confrontations. At every checkpoint. Every officer who wanders from the "compound". And, when the timing is right: The Compound itself.
How would they hold up to withering fire in a surprise attack by 500 good shooters with combat experience?
How would they hold up to IEDs alongside every road?

This is great! I love watching the democrats deliberately kill their chances in November and also in 2016. The fact that they are doing it to themselves is fantastic. Harry Reid’s involvement is just stupendous. It will take his popularity down among his supporters because he is, defacto, taking down a common guy for his own gain. Hillary sat there and said ‘what differencc does it make’. All the Republicans need to do is keep showing that film clip with a picture of those 4 men. There is more, but I don’t want to bore you.
