California Republicans did the same thing years ago and now look where they're at.
Any Republican that disregards social issues are dead to me.
To: Salman
So, as a social conservative, remind again why I should vote Republican.
The biggest enemies of social conservatives are liberal Republicans. They insist that we drop our “purist” stances so that the Party can win. But, if they win, they won’t adopt our positions. They want our votes, but not our values.
And don’t threaten me by saying that things will get worse if we don’t vote for the GOP-e. Things already have gotten worse. Liberal Republicans espouse views that are the polar opposite of mine with regard to the issues that are most important to me. If you don’t run a conservative, don’t expect my vote. I have gardening to do.

I think the Nevada GOP is just formalizing what the national GOP already thinks.
If Republicans already don’t do anything about illegal immigration, or the massive expansion of the federal government, then they throw in the towel on social issues, why would anyone vote for them?

judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. I judge Republicans on their adherence to GOP values like abortion and traditional marriage. And these idiots wonder why the base stays home.

So when Gays sue Christians for not celebrating their lifestyle the Nevada GOP will stand with the Gays...
when Gays advocate hate crimes legislation regulating speech the Nevada GOP will support the Gays...
When the Abortion industry demands taxpayer funded abortions and birth control the Nevada GOP will stand with the abortion industry..

And so another state GOP bites the dust. This does present an opportunity however. Nevada can be a testing ground for a third party. It would not be competitive for gubernatorial races and such, but mayorships, regional offices, and places in the state legislature are up for grabs.
>> AP: The topics have become a political liability for the GOP, especially among younger voters
Is this the MSM narrative being hoisted upon Republicans?

Im tired of playing defense. The homosexual lobby has been playing offense with no danger of repercussions. We need to go on the offense. We can start by demanding the repeal of Lawrence v. Texas. Granted that probably wont happen, but it might cause a sea change in opinion and at least cause the homosexual lobby to waste time and energy defending territory instead of advancing further. The chorus of repealing Roe v. Wade didnt bring about its repeal, but it seemed to change the public mood. We need a million bumper stickers with Repeal Lawrence v. Texas. Even if it did no good, the hysteria that it would create would be entertaining.

That’s the trouble, people in NV do stand for nothing. And endorsing abortion won’t help the hapless GOP there.

This is what Rand Paul has come out for nationally.
Rand Paul:
“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who dont want to be festooned by those issues.”
