Give up meat, coal, oil, economic growth and national sovereignty - orders new IPCC climate report
Breitbart London ^ | 4/14/2014 | James Delingpole

Posted on 04/14/2014 2:28:59 AM PDT by markomalley

The United Nations (UN) has delivered its latest verdict on the measures necessary to save the world from global warming and the news is as grim as it is predictable and wearisomely familiar:

More regulation from "experts", technocrats and bureaucrats at supranational organisations, such as the one whose initials begin with U and end with N.

More taxpayer subsidies for expensive, inefficient renewable energy.

More nuclear power (with shale gas used as a transitional fuel to replace coal).

The abandonment of fossil fuels.

Less meat consumption.

A single, globally-regulated price for carbon dioxide.

More local-government-enforced walking, cycling and public transportation.

More back-door wealth redistribution from the West to the developing world in the name of "sustainability"

All at a cost to the global economy of up to 3.7 per cent of GDP by 2030, provided we act now.

These are the recommendations of Working Group III of the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), due to be officially announced in Berlin on Monday.

The report notes that almost half of the rise in post-industrial anthropogenic (man-made) CO2 levels since 1750 occurred during the last forty years. Therefore, it argues, a dramatic decarbonization of the world economy - including more renewable energy and less fossil fuel - must begin immediately if global warming is to be kept below 2 degrees C by the end of the century.

We would all be better off WITHOUT the IRCC and the UN.

Absolutely! (and 0bama and Harry Reid and upChuck Schumer and Pelosi and Biden and the ATF and about 4/5ths of the FBI and HUD and the IRS and the EPA etc.)

Less meat consumption. A single, globally-regulated price for carbon dioxide. More local-government-enforced walking, cycling and public transportation.

Of course the self-selected elite and the nomenklatura will jet about the world, meeting at five star resorts in the best climates to discuss progress and further steps to be taken, dining on steak and lobster and foie gras and caviar. Bleck!

They DO NOT “want to feed these people”!!

This is the Population Control crowd!

We need to expel these elitists from the UN building in NYC and give them a row boat and a fishing pole....

Essentially what this report lays out is based on is the fact that since there has been no evidence of global warning for the past 17 years we are due for an inevitable crisis.

They are creating something from nothing.

Also interesting to note that this crisis. as all the others will take place sometime in the future. Year 2100 to be exact.

Tho not the main focus, according to this piece of fiction, 3rd world countries will be affected first. It is not even thinly veiled as an appended attempt to send another quadrillion dollars in aid.

This report is the usual dire prediction that something is bound to happen since nothing has happened yet.

I almost wish I had birds so I could line their cages with the paper this useless supposition was printed on.

Fascinating, thanks for the link; very interesting story, but I find it implausible that the banker has kept the paper documentation for all these years in the garage and no one has burgled him to try and solve the mystery.

No coal, no gas. Guess those electric cars will have to go by the wayside. Oh, and no jets either. I love how the left doesn’t ever have any idea of the implications of what they are proposing. There’s so much wrong with this proposal. How ridiculous the IPCC is!

It’s obvious that our American business, academic and political leaders at all levels are cooperating with the U.N. on that.

Until Capitalism was invented sometime during the industrial revolution, the world had for years supported roughly 500 million souls. There were, of course, short term dips and increases and dramatic swings in places troubled by war and famine, but it was remarkably stable.

Many of these elites, cloistered in their faculty lounges, will still argue that this is more or less the ideal population for the planet.

A few will argue that improvements in technology might allow for up to three or four billion souls. I've heard this crap with my own ears and I kid you not.

Don't forget that Pol Pot was one of these academics acting out this fantasy in his part of the world.

I prefer to depopulate these Control Freaks who want Depopulation by lobbing rocks on them launched from the moon....

Here is a question to ask these liberal morons: If we came from evolution, then why did nature evolve a species that could alter their own environment?

They want more money for less work from their energy investments and to divert increasing amounts of energy resources to the few foreign manufacturing countries of their choice. Give ‘em what they’re asking for (but not really wanting) by becoming more self-sufficient and saving money. For those willing to think and work, there are always ways. For those of you in northern climates,...

After reading the list I just say “OK Big Boy, you go first”——start with no more meat in the UN cafeteria and go up the list from there.

The only sane one is nurse nuclear power, however, they screw that up by saying no coal after. Our base load generation should be close to 100% coal and nuclear.

I have already had some training for this lifestyle having lived in Scandinavia. Steak dinner? Easily $50 a person. No such thing as a Texas Roadhouse $10 steak. No such thing as a 10 dollar anything. Maybe a couple of cokes.

The fallacy of these reports is that there was some time in the past when humans lived in some environmental paradise. If we just give up progress, we’ll get back to it. That is complete BS. The only way to get back to some natural paradise would be to kill a huge chunk of the population.
