Walgreen Co. is under pressure from a group of shareholders to move its corporate headquarters to Europe to take advantage of tax benefits, the Financial Times reported.
Shareholders owning about 5 percent of the companys shares lobbied Deerfield-based Walgreens management to use its 45 percent ownership stake in Swiss-based Alliance Boots GmbH to change its legal base to Europe, the financial daily said.
Walgreen, the nations largest drugstore chain, plans to complete the takeover of Alliance Boots, which runs Europes largest pharmacy chain, in 2015.

If Europe is such a wonderful place to run a business, why is Walgreens is taking over Alliance Boots GmbH?
You would have to ask Walgreens. I can say that I know that the owners of Alliance Boots are very happy with the deal.

It really doesn’t matter where they move. The USA is in last place when it comes to corporate taxes. Let the country crash and fail. I am prepared, USA v2.0 will be better.
part of destroying the usa economically is getting huge companies to move outside it. this way when they nuke it and fedgov shuts it down the globalists will have their largest favorite companies running just fine elsewhere.
Had to quit shopping a Walgreens. They started with the loyalty cards. That’s why I did not use CVS. Now my money is better spent locally at the mom and pop pharmacy.
