Alex Sink Passes on Second Try for FL-13 Seat

Democrat Alex Sink is opting out of Round 2 in the battle for the House seat in Florida’s 13th Congressional District. Her decision comes a month after she narrowly lost to Republican David Jolly in a special election that offered early warning signs about her party’s vulnerabilities in the fall midterms.

Sink was considered a top recruit for the fall race, and Democrats had hoped the well-known state official and former gubernatorial candidate would run again for the seat. Party officials insisted that turnout would be higher in November than it was in March, which theoretically would help Sink catch and surpass Jolly.

Republicans called Sink’s decision a “recruiting fail” of the Democrats’ campaign arm. “These candidates who live outside the beltway understand what Obama and the DCCC [don’t] -- their continued devotion to ObamaCare is not only costing them votes, it is costing them their star candidates,” said National Republican Congressional Committee spokeswoman Andrea Bozek.

Sink has consistently done things that would be good for future political runs. If she were to lose twice in a row she could become a political has-been as Democrats are not big on supporting losing candidates. She’s lost too many times since moving out of her state gov position. She sees this as another loss for whoever takes it. And, the Dems don’t have another well-known name to run in the post.

Dems would be better off running Bill’s previously beaten Democratic opponent whose name was Urlich. She’s young and has no reputation but she did get 40% against Bill. Either that, or they could just let Jolly run unopposed...(Yes!)

I've narrowed it down to three possibilities:

1. She knows she'll become a three-time loser.

2. Another Rep is about to die somewhere else in FL.

3. She's eloping with Bob Shrum.

Sink needs to try something other than elected office. She’s far from being one of the worst people in the Democrat party. She just is a terrible candidate

If Orange skinned Charlie wins against Rick Scott, I’m moving to Maine. Rick Scott is better than Jeb and Christ.

If Orange skinned Charlie wins against Rick Scott...

On an even playing field, I do not see this happening. Then again, I was fooled in 2012 by Obama, the proven liar's victory.

You’d better make sure Gov. Paul LePage pulls out a second term, because there’s an equally (but non-Orange) appalling leftist poof (Mike Michaud) running up there. Hopefully both Michaud and the Orange Menace are stomped.
