Pentagon Moves to Block Russian Spy Plane in American Skies

Russian surveillance planes already fly over America, thanks to a long-standing treaty. But a new, ultra-sophisticated spy plane has U.S. military and intelligence bosses spooked. The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. military and American intelligence agencies have quietly pushed the White House in recent weeks to deny a new Russian surveillance plane the right to fly over U.S. territory. This week, the White House finally began consideration of the decision whether to certify the new Russian aircraft under the so-called “Open Skies Treaty.” And now the question becomes: Will the spies and generals get their way?

I believe the terms of the latest START Treaty....signed by Obama does not call for inspections. I will look up the terms of the Treaty and post it.

The EU could have avoided every bit of this if it has just said, "I call and raise you" when Putin put his offer to the Ukraine on the table.

The question is, who stood to gain the most by not waiting a few months for elections. The EU who wouldn't even match much less better the deal Putin made the Ukraine, or Putin who already had a signed agreement in hand?

The sad fact of the matter is the EU got caught rolling the Ukraine like a tubby old drunk.

Now they're trying to pretend they really just had tubby down and were kicking him to protect him from evil Russians intent on reducing his debt and giving him a good deal on energy prices.

Any way you cut it, Putin was only being a realist to occupy Crimea and integrate it back into Russia instead waiting to see if there would be high precision negotiation strikes destroying infrastructure there.

The same genius crew who wouldn't beat the Russian offer to begin with are now reduced to schoolyard taunts and obvious forgeries to try gin up support for the people they bet on in Kiev. The problem is, those dad gum Ukrainian military and police guys keep siding with the local folks instead of the "government" in Kiev.

We should be so lucky. Is it any wonder the propaganda crews are working overtime to make authorities siding with the local folks look like the work of "Putin sock puppets"? Is it any wonder the horror stories the propaganda crews talk about can never be verified any more than the threat to desert turtles in Nevada can be verified?

I've seen more verifiable pictures of government destruction of private property in Nevada than I've seen of Russians lifting a finger in the Ukraine. But we're supposed to let the system slowly grind toward chastising it's own here and all get behind the use of lethal force in the Ukraine to help the EU save face?

This cannot be said enough. We will be extremely fortunate to avoid an “Obama War” based on his warped (Saudi style) view of international economy and politik.It would gravely injure America and place our country on the path of self destruction, we are 3/4 there already.

Yes, well, thats likely why Putin has cut off all telephone contact with the White House. They saw what he was up to.Meanwhile its crickets at the White Hut.

We all know how this ends up, Obama is pressured to act and then he will finally send a completely unprepared force of our soldiers over to the Ukraine , ill equipped, with horrible ROEs, with no clear objective, and our soldiers will be put right into a liberal meat grinder wjhere the Russians prevail. Clinton did it in Somalia ( no tanks for the Marines there although they begged for them), Carter in Iran ( a hastily organized fiasco with no regard for conditions on the ground), and Johnston in Vietnam ( limited ROE when the war could have been won.).

Watch Obama be true to that pattern, only a whole lot worse.
