'Guys with Guns Dictate Policy'

Over the weekend, I spent a lot of time reading about the Bundy Ranch Saga, looking into the area in Nevada where the Bundys live, and asking Google a bunch of questions I wanted answers to.

While researching, I happened upon a press release from an environmental group, and decided to call the person listed as the "contact" person.

The leftist environmentalist and I had about a 45 minute conversation over the phone about the Bundy Ranch, Nevada, and the history of what has been happening there, from his perspective. It was a long time to be on the phone, and it was mainly due to him because, (and you out there who know people like this will understand,) he gave me a ton of hypotheticals to try to explain things to me, you know, because I don't "get it."

You are correct. The people I know from bay area, CA long for the protests, social freedoms, the concerts and pot.
As I point out to them, they once wanted gov’t to just leave them alone, but now they want to force their social agendas on everyone else. So they have become what they were protesting against.

I wonder how many of those people were actual hippies, or just people living in Frisco and partying like kids during the period, as they attended college and then went on to their careers.

They live in one of the most expensive cities in America, how many of them could have been actual hippies? Are you sure they weren’t more of the college kid, or yippie types?

I've ceased debating the matter with liberals - for them the question isn't "should people own guns?" but "how do we fool you into taking yours?"

"Imagine a world without guns," one of them bleated in a local rag not too long ago. It's easy, actually: Genghis Khan.

The vest, no. It may have a trauma plate insert; however, that is designed to do just that, and normally, they work once or twice before losing a lot of structural integrity.

Dragon Skin Armor was designed to overcome this by incorporating a bunch of smaller, overlapping plates, but as I understand it, results have been somewhat mixed.

"sad that guys with guns could dictate policy."

How is that different than all of human history?

You are either the master of your own life and the citizen of a republic, or you are a slave.

The left would have us all be slaves.

Guns are the only way now in the west. The courts refuse to recognize the precedents set in Hage v US and refuse the enjoin the BLM from repeated their behaviors found unlawful.

What other option is there?

Most of the ones I know were like me living out there; loved the concerts and rebellion against authority. But the problem with them is that they have used that background to push more gov’t intervention into everyone’s lives. They are environmental radicals. They were not happy to make abortion legal but they force everyone to pay for it, they not only stopped discrimination against gays but now they are teaching it to the grade school kids in CA. They have better rules in some cities for illegals than they do for the taxpayers. I could go on and on.

I know some real hippies that live off the land as you describe, but not much in CA liberal areas.

Thomas Jefferson said (paraphrasing) that government is not about reason; it is about force.

Government is a gun.

So, level five is a long way from being common for government JBTs then. The JBTs at the Bundy Ranch had the standard issue stuff. Just about all the demonstrators that were armed had rifles that would have gone right through what those guys were wearing, I wonder if any of them realized it?

Yep...even the very best (other than some arcane stuff like in the video) is considered Level IV, and even that would become unwieldy and hot in the Nevada Desert. In my experience, most people who wear body armor are pretty familiar with both its capabilities and limitations.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I think the exposed parts of my body would feel pretty nekkid wearing one of those. If I were a BLM JBT at the Bund Ranch, I'd probably not wear armor at all. Better to be light on my feet than wear useless armor.

As a Potential Domestic Terrorist, I stand proudly ready to defend my Country against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

This is #1 of 78 videos on the subject. It might be an idea to download them all considering what happened at the Bundy Ranch this past week.<
