At record-breaking speed, public donations to fund a movie about the nation's worst abortionist, Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell, have reached over $ 1 million, making the project one of the biggest crowd sourced movies in history.
In just three weeks, the producers of "Gosnell" have reached $1,092,000 of the $2.1 million they are seeking to make a TV movie about the man they've dubbed "the most prolific serial killer in American history."
With the help of some Hollywood stars, the producers expect to raise the money by May 12, the deadline set by the online crowdsourcing fundraiser indiegogo.com.
Filmmaker Phelim McAleer told Secrets that he decided to seek donations from the public because Hollywood and the mainstream media have shown little interest in the story of Gosnell, convicted last year of murder. In court, he faced charges of handling several late-term abortions and mutilating babies born alive.
"Gosnell" has already received more donations than any other movie in which there isn't a celebrity. The top celeb movie made with donations was this year's "Veronica Mars," starring Kristen Bell. We think the Gosnell movie is more important, we think you do too, said McAleer.

How can they call this guy a serial killer and not all the other abortion doctors? Killing a baby for convenience is just that. It doesn’t matter that a doctor is doing it, or that it’s called a “medical procedure”.
If you paid me a million dollars, I couldn’t watch this movie.
What is your point?
You want a different movie made or what?
Did you all know that there is a “George R Tiller” achievement award?
Seriously.
This is awarded to “doctors” and medical students “for choice” for maintaining his legacy.
SICK SICK SICK
Silencing of the Lambs
The point is that the focus is on the wrong thing. It doesn’t matter who is doing it, but the left is choosing to demonize this one abortionist while giving the others a free pass.
I do understand that and it goes to the very heart of the fight. The act itself is SO horrible that decent minds recoil.
However, this film is "made for TV" and it will expose dead hearts and corrupted minds to the truth.
No, this movie is being produced by the pro-life movement. Never forget Gosnell, which is what the left would prefer.
You are right with your question ... which the movie will seek to leave in the minds of the viewers ...
"How can they call this guy a serial killer and not all the other abortion doctors?"
I can see that logic is not your strong suit. What has "the left" got to do with this?
The left is certainly aware of Gosnell, but they see his abortions as somehow going “over the top”. If only they would see all the other abortions in the same light, but they don’t. They just claim he’s the one bad apple in the bunch, and ignore the rest. That’s their general attitude, and prefer not to even be reminded that abortion means killing a live healthy baby, so that they don’t have to see it as evil.
I’m not complaining about the movie, by the way. I’m just saying that the left is not going to learn a thing from it because they’ll focus on the man instead of the act.
One major reason this film is being made is to expose the media’s malfeasance in not covering this story with anything like the intensity they gave the Jody Arias trial, which was going on at the same time.
Just because they aren’t making the film that you want made does not make their project wrong.
I love it, don-0. Hollywood has used their tool to push all sorts of stuff (homosexuality, adultery, lust..etc). If the pro-life movement can make a movie with a plot, dialogue, etc... maybe (just maybe) it could reach some people.
Did I say the project was wrong? I said that the left will see the wrong thing, and miss the whole message. That’s my suspicion anyway, because that’s all they do anyway.
I sincerely doubt that Gosnell is the worst. He's just the worst that we know of.
I donated when I saw a FB video by Kevin Sorbo...hope I got his name right, he's Hercules. Very moving video by Sorbo and his wife. I was very glad to hear their unabashed and full throated defense of the unborn and testimony for Christ. They're a couple of great folks.
The guy who plays Art on “Justified” has also made a spot.
