Obamacare was passed with a huge dem senate majority. Just taking the senate back won’t be enough to repeal Ocare.
bfl
Repeal is not impossible. When their plan comes up for renewal, they will have to choose another just like before.
Yep. The back-breaking costs will turn out to be the least of our problems. There may still be health-care insurance, but there won’t be any healthcare. sigh
It was a straight party line vote, 60-39, so the Dems `own’ it—like they own the economy, unemployment, the huge debt, a lousy foreign policy, the trade deficit, a dozen dirty scandals and a general miserable attitude across the nation due to failure of leadership.
The `rats are going to get their heads handed to them this fall. Good.
The GOP ... gee, it will be like trying to decide who to root for in a slap-fight between Bill Maher and Bill “Ted” O’Really. Both parties have managed to wrap things so badly around the axle, with the Republicans fighting like kittens to right the ship of state. they can both go to hell.
Anyway here’s the vote, (Christmas eve, the sneaking bastards):

Obamacare is a blunder of Ceausescuian proportions.
Repeal all mandates, eliminate the death panel; that should effectively kill it. Even rinos could go for that. Hardly anyone on the 0-exchange will want to keep their new crappy plan, even the ones with big subsidies, because the networks are too narrow, doctors aren’t taking it, and the deductibles are too high.
Don't buy this crap for a minute. ANYTHING can be repealed. Remember alcohol prohibition? Slavery? Marijuana ban? Homosexuality ban?
What you said.
"Repeal every single word." -- Ted Cruz
The Obama is going to hit the fan in November!
I am self employed so I had my own major medical policy, I was one of the ones that could keep my policy, just don't know for how long as it does not comply with the ACA mandated "essential services".
It would be cheaper to repeal the entire thing and pay out subsidies. Remember, a huge piece of that 8M number is in the parasite states (CA,NY,IL,NJ) we don’t need their congressmen or senators to vote this down.
He called it “obamacare” then he heard Pelosi’s voice from that little speaker implanted in his ear scream “AFFORDABLE CARE ACT!”
For decades I’ve doubted that my vote counts.
It isn't that simple. Parts of it could be repealed, yes. But you can't even exactly define the totality of it. No one person has a handle on the whole thing. Parts of Obamacare are still being implemented with new regulations sprouting on the fly. Thousands of pages, beyond the thousands of pages in the original legislation. Pretty much everything varies state to state. State insurance commissioners have interpreted lots of grey areas uniquely (not just Medicaid). Even Medicare Advantage is impacted. It isn't like saying "Ok, you can start selling and drinking alcohol again".
Repeal is not impossible.
The really bad crap from the Big Kahuna’s ObamaCare scam isn’t going to hit until the boy is cooling his heals in front of his mansion on some beach in Hawaii.
Thank you for the information.
We should buy every Legislator a Crystal Ball or better yet a Magic 8 Ball.
