Isn’t it funny how Russia, surrounded by all these tiny countries, always seems to find a way to get “pushed around?” LOL

So you’re saying people have no right to remove incompetent leaders? The resulting government is “illegitimate”?

I guess that makes the USA illegitimate.

(Get over it, your Russian toadie Yanukovich got removed, so Putin’s plan to covertly subsume Ukraine is foiled - too bad)

“Russian Ukrainians aren’t Ukrainians now?”

Your resort to misrepresenting what was written to create a strawman argument is not going to work. Save you false propaganda tactic for people too stupid to see through your lies.

“Isn’t that why the demonstrations started in the first place, when the coup leaders in Kiev demanded that Russian culture in Ukraine be wiped out?”

No, because your allegation is a lie. You claim there was a coup, when in fact no coup occurred. President Yanukovych abandoned his office and defected to the Russians to avoid criminal prosecution for his multitude of crimes, including treason. If Obama and Biden abandoned the White House and fled to Russia to avoid impeachment and Federal prosecution for High Crimes and Misdemeanors, that would not constitute a coup by Congress or the Republican Party no matter how many protestors were pounding on the gates of the White House or demonstrating on the steps of the Capitol building. Once again, you are simply using lies to propagate false propaganda that is supportive of the Russian aggressions against the Ukraine. It makes no difference who you are, where you are, or what you claim to be your political affiliations. What matters is how you act, and your actions constitute false propaganda favoring the Russian aggression.

“Even if ‘Russian actors’ are present, these things need reasons to begin.”

Your statement is in effect an apology for Russian aggression in violation of numerous laws of war and international agreements to refrain from the use of force. Again, it doesn’t matter who you are, when your actions support unlawful and immoral acts.

Lol!
Your making me laugh, kid.

I have no personal stake in the outcome in Ukraine, unlike you, obviously.

I’m interested in the politics of it, and how things are playing out. This will have long-term effects far outside of Ukraine for decades to come.

But, I’ll give you credit. You have successfully stifled most discussion of actual facts on Ukraine threads with your constant flaming and trolling. Which was your point, wasn’t it?

Most won’t comment anymore, so they don’t have to deal with the incessant trolling. I could personally care less how many names you call me, because some facts run counter to Maidan propaganda. (It’s ALL propaganda, on all sides. remember that.)

I’ve got thick skin. Flame away, troll.

You can argue mute points all day long, and it won’t make any difference to the facts on the ground.

“Sure ya do, kid.”

Given the way in which you deliberately lie so often, you are beginning to give me the impression you are virtually a pathological liar. You deliberately neglected the truth of my age and experience in a propagandistic effort to be patronizing towards my comments. By doing so, you expose once again your disregard and disrespect for reality and the truth. So, you can save your false suggestons that i’m a “kid.”

As for you American Legion claim, one of the neighbors, for one example, is a Korean Conflict veteran, an infantryman, Democrat, racist who doesn’t like Blacks, isn’t interested in criticim of Obama because he is a Democrat, questions why we fought the Communists in Korea and Vietnam, and is a long standing member of the American Legion. He quit the NRA. He participated in the manufacture of the prototype M-16 rifles. He is opposed to civilians possessing AR-15 rifles. He is certainly one of Lenin’s useful idiots.

Some people still think there are only two sides to every issue. That is why we are stuck with a two party system. There is always the choice of neither.

“You can argue mute points all day long, and it won’t make any difference to the facts on the ground.”

All you are saying is the truth does not matter to you, so you just continue with the lies and misrepresentations in the hope you can sway opinions by emotion if not by fact. You have referenced the definition of a Coup d’état and then proceeded to ignore that definition to repeat your lie. Where is there any evidence President Yanukovych was removed from office by a Coup d’état? Answer, there is no such evidence, because he was not removed from office by force. President Yanukovych removed himself from office by fleeing from the Ukraine and defecting to provide treasonous service to Russia. The lawfully elected government of the Ukraine is the parliament and its lawfully elected Deputies. If anyone can be justly accused of committing a Coup d’état, it would be President Yanukovich and his multitude of usrpations of the powers limted by the Ukrainian constitutions. so, the “facts on the ground” as you call them is that there has been no Coup d’état perpetrated against Yanukovych, and the present government of the Ukraine is based upon the laws of the Ukraine and its lawfully elected Deputies in the parliament. You false propaganda to the contrary is without any valid basis.

Might be a good idea. One that is at least a decade away, especially once the Euro Enviro-weenies get involved.

As Germany has learned the hard way, it is no simple task to build even simple gas storage, now that those Environuts have an almost free reign.

The Ukrainians will be killing one another, Ukrainians who don't agree with one another trying to kill one another, not Ukrainians killing Russians, get it?

Putin took advantage of the situation, took what was critical to Russia out of the game, and is laughing at all the trash talk about "evil Russians". It's nothing but schoolyard taunts to try and convince Putin he can and should take over Eastern Ukraine because the pro-Russians there are so active. Half the people in the Ukraine call relatives in Russia on a regular basis because they're family. "Covert Russian operatives" aren't a problem for the coup crowd in Kiev, their fellow Ukrainians are a problem for them. The average Ukrainian just won't shut up and let the elite who refused to wait on elections tell the ignorant masses what's best for them. They're not a bit different than the King Barry court in DC, they just have to deal with a larger percentage of the population being willing to stand up to their armed thugs than King Barry has to deal with.

Besides, the Ukrainians in the East don't need any Russian aid, all the units the Kiev government sends in to smack them down defect from the government and join the locals.

Buy a clue, if their own troops won't fight for the government in Kiev, the Kiev crowd are desperate to find someone stupid enough to rush in and start killing the Ukrainians the Kiev coup crowd want killed. The very LAST thing the gang in Kiev, the EU, and the US, want is for the scheduled elections to actually take place.

That's why they didn't just wait a few months for elections in the first place, they knew they wouldn't win and the EU has them by the naughty bits so they better deliver. Think about it, the reason the "government" in Kiev isn’t coming down hard on groups like Right Sector is because they need them to protect themselves. What the “government” in Kiev is really afraid of is a "terrorist incident" blowing the "the leadership" away and they know damn well it would be someone other than Russians making it happen.

People who don't study history are condemned to repeat it.

People who are so gullible they refuse to admit what their own government is capable of end up like average German in WWII; wondering how their righteous deeds suddenly turned into a real war with half the planet working to blow them away.

The EU thought they could be brilliant grifters and the mark would never even know what hit them. It didn't work because Putin made a deal for real debt relief and a huge discount on energy prices. Even the dolt in charge of the Ukraine at the time could see it was a better deal than the EU giving out a few Europas Rail Passes and an official You're European Now, Baby" reusable shopping bags. The EU screwed up the Ukraine, let them fix it.

We have a strategic interest in Nigeria.
We have a strategic interest in Syria.
We have no strategic interest in Ukraine.

But oddly enough, King Barry and Rambo Biden are beating the war-drums over the Ukraine?

Muzzies in Nigeria and Syria are murdering men, women, and children, who won't deny they're Christian and become Muslim by he hundreds and thousands. If people in this country want the vicarious thrill of watching someone fighting real evil bastards on their behalf, they should be on their soapboxes screaming about why we aren't saving Christians in countries where we do have strategic interests, not about the bill for thirty years of screw-ups in the Ukraine coming due.

Actually, you have it backwards -

We (the West) have no real interest, strategic or otherwise, in Nigeria or Syria, they're both corrupt, non-democratic, third-world crapholes, and besides most Western countries have no historic, cultural, or demographic ties to either of these two.

Ukraine, by contrast, is a modern first-world country, currently at the edge of the New Iron Curtain - to the west lies democratic Europe, to the east lies the gangster regime of Russia.

So any aggression against Ukraine, almost a European country, is very much in all of our interests. If Putin isn't turned back there, all of Europe is the next target, make no mistake.

“So you’re saying people have no right to remove incompetent leaders? “

Y”eah they do. Thats what elections are for.”

Yes, and it was the Deputies of the parliament lawfully elected by the citizens of the Ukraine before President Yanukovych abandoned his dubiously elected office and treasonously defected to his Russian sponsors, who in response took the only available action available under the Ukrainian constitution to replace his vacated office by the upcoming presidential election, which former President Yanukovych and the Russians are using force to prevent. If Yanukovych had not defected to the Russian invaders, he would still have occupied the office of the president of the Ukraine, and there would have been no vacancy in the pesidential office for the Ukrainian parliament to replace. If Yanukovych had not vacated his presidential office, the parliament may have been motivated by the Euromaidan protestors to undertake the constitutional proceedings to remove Yanukovych rom office, but Yanukovych removed himself from that office before the parliament could begin such a long and cumbersome procedure. Now the parliament has exercised its constitutional authority to hold a presidential election to refill the vacated office, but the Russians and their separatist ethnic Russian Ukrainian insurrectionists are doing everything they can to keep a fair presidential election from occurring, as they have for the previous elections with massive vote fraud.

No, I don't have it backwards, people who think we were in desperate straits and horribly at risk when it was part of the Soviet Union and all the time it was part of Russia before we went looking for overseas entanglements have it backwards.

Culture and history bunk is an excuse for letting people who don't have a European background rot and suffer, that's all. Why help those scruffy third world types when you can jet off to meetings in Paris, London, Bonn, and other cities where they have well groomed hookers and anything else you want certified by the locals as safe and even vetted by their intelligence agencies?

If we had left NATO when the Soviet Union collapsed do you really think it would have expanded eastward in blatant contradiction of what Russia was promised?

If we worried more about other parts of the world and less about Europe we wouldn't have the EU and their alligator mouth writing checks their rats butt can't cash and expecting us to make the checks good. In fact, we might even have good relations with Russia and several countries in the ME where they respect people who stand up for their principals instead of standing up for the bank accounts of "the right people".

Then again, talking to people in a country where folks would rather sit home and complain than throw scum like Barry out of office is pretty much a waste of time. I know the drill, it's "the Russians are coming" while Christians worldwide are slaughtered for sport and the righteous US government smooths the way for wonderful, peaceful, Muslims when they want to install fine folks like the Muslim Brotherhood.

Yeah, culture and history, that's the way to go. All three hundred million of us need to worry about the other three hundred million of us in our "cultural" club and tell the 6.4 billion other folks to stuff it because they can't possibly impact our economy and security. What a typical redefinition of words to suit the agenda of the crowd in DC. "Strategic interests", it's all about cultural ties, not threats vs non-threats, long term relationships, and definitely not about right and wrong.

Freedom went out the window when the coup happened. Now folks who were happy with the election are facing military from the thugs who burned their way into the kiev statehouse and being told by us press and countless freepers that if they dont roll over they are against freedom and democracy.

So you are going with the theory that because the elected leader had to flee a militant mob there is no evidence of a coup.
