I don’t really regret the Crusades... mostly. I regret what the Crusades turned into. From defending fellow Christians under siege into attacking the same Christians for wealth.
I do admit, I’m sick of people saying ‘The Crusades’ when there were a whole bunch of different wars that were called Crusades. From the initial First Crusade which was (largely) about defending fellow Christians from Muslim attackers, to the quite shameful Fourth, which ended up being attacking the other Christians.
