CHICAGO—Following one of the most violent weekends of the year so far, the U.S. attorney's office here on Monday said it was forming a violent-crimes section that focuses specifically on gangs, guns and drugs.
Zachary Fardon, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, carved out the new effort from a larger narcotics and gangs group, said spokesman Randall Samborn. The move is part of a wider recent structural overhaul of the office, which has a $34 million annual budget, he said. Of about 150 prosecutors in the office, 16 are now dedicated to the violent-crimes unit.

That amounts to yet another of hundreds of crime units in the CPD and will amount to nothing just like all the rest. All political.

Everybody is armed in my community also, but hasn’t been a murder in over 30 years; of course ethnic makeup is all White & Indian. Not an African within 200 miles; somehow me thinks that has something to do Chicago’s Problems; are they ever going to wake up; guess they don’t even care about their own people.
They need twice as many prosecutors just to get the politicians in line!
If a few freepers can collect all this think what could be collected with wiretaps and snitches!

During the past five years over five hundred young mostly minority men have been slaughtered on the streets of Chicago. Obama has a phone and a pen yet he has done virtually nothing to address this carnage.
I guess the DimocRATS are needing to try something different now that the Rahm administration and its complicit police department are having their campaign of “hiding” murders and other violent crimes is beginning to be exposed.
He should start with the warlord squatting in the White Hut.
Send in the BLM.
Good they can start in the Mayor’s office and CPD.
This is just the thing to reduce street violence.
A new bunch of muckity-muck political hacks sitting in an office 9-5 weekends off.
But they will be promoted faster and earn much more than actual street cops.
