Peter King urges immigration reform
Politico ^ | SEUNG MIN KIM

A House GOP lawmaker is urging Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring up immigration reform, saying it would benefit the nation and the Republican Party to undertake an overhaul that includes a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

The letter from Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) adds to a quiet but growing chorus of comments from House Republicans during the current congressional recess speaking in favor of immigration reform this year – which remains a steep uphill battle, with the House GOP fundamentally divided on the hot-button issue.

If all of these Republicans are so supportive of “Immigration Reform”, including Boehner childishly mocking Republicans opposed, why are they making those opposed the issue? Vote your convictions you spineless wimps.

You might be confusing Steve King who is still a big amnesty fighter with Peter King, who never was. He is a lib goober.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

I agree Steve King of Iowa was always a solid conservative and Peter King of New York never was, but no, I'm not confusing them.

PETER King used to always PRETEND to be Mr. Conservative Warrior when his primary election campaign was near, and work the nightly conservative talk shows beating his chest about how strongly pro-life, pro-border security, and anti-Muslim he was. He had numerous fans here who drank all kool-aid he was selling. Gullible conservatives believed it and forgave that RINO traitor for his love affair with the Clintons.

Again, just click on the link below. It's an example of PETER King putting on a dog and pony show back in 2006 and vocally denouncing Bush's amnesty plan:

He was always a jerk, he certainly didn’t become one as recently as the 2012 redistricting. He was one of Clinton’s favorite Republicans. And he’s a longtime fan of IRA terrorists.

Utah had it’s state convention today. In Utah if anyone gets 60% at the convention they win, otherwise the top 2 go to a primary.

There will be no primaries for any congressional race. Mia Love gets the CD-4 nomination with almost 80% over her weak challenger. She faces rat John Owens, spawn of former Congressman Wayne Owens. Gotta love the consistency from Utah rats, but he’s no Matheson, most rate this race as a safe pickup.

Jason Chaffetz (who I forgot is an ex-rat who once had Kitty Dukakis as a stepmother and a half-brother by her) likewise won easily over a pair of nobody challengers.

Excuse me, the rat spawn is named Doug Owens, not John.

It surprises me that the nobody challengers didn't vocally point out that Chaffetz now supports the same position he decried Chris Cannon for holding. Literally, that was the ONLY issue Chaffertz campaigned on, and said the position he holds now was unacceptable back then. You could do a great Kerry vs. Kerry style mashup video of Chaffetz 2008 vs. Chaffetz 2014.

Of course, I pointed out this as well when Sununu was consistently polling behind Shaheen and didn't drop out, despite calling on Bob Smith to do so under the same circumstances six years earlier.

It's cute how politicians morph into the predecessor they trashed to win that office.

Boy does he have a questionable background, ex-rat, former COS to Huntsman!

Amazing the loyalty you can inspire just by pretending to give a damn about stopping illegal immigration.

Heh. I actually just googled his 2008 campaign speeches on YouTube for a laugh, and the guy sounded like a cross between Adam Andrejewski and Steve Lonegan on the stump, giving cocky holier-than-thou soundbites about how the “Washington elites” FEAR him because he’s a “businessman” who “stands firm for our core conservative principles” and will “work hard to return the Republican Party to those principles”

What a douchebag.
