'Maybe I sinned...maybe I don’t know what I actually said': Cliven Bundy Attempts Befuddling Apology

“Maybe I sinned and maybe I need to ask forgiveness. Maybe I don’t know what I actually said,” Bundy said Friday, when asked to defend his opinion that black Americans would be better off as slaves.

“I took this boot off so I wouldn’t put my foot in my mouth with the boot on,” he told CNN’s Chris Cuomo, suggesting he was ready to back down and strike a more conciliatory tone.

But that hope was short-lived as Bundy soon dived in to criticize people for being too sensitive.

Mr. Bundy, you are in the process of being demonized by the powers that be so that the Governmental Agents will be able to murder you and your family as they did to David Koresh at Mt. Carmel. and the sheep can bleat, “He was a racists kook and got what he deserved.” “Our benevolent Government did us a favor getting rid of this homophobic, racists, child molester”. then your property can be given to the powerful, and in my opinion corrupt politician that now covets it. Therefore, anything and everything you say from this point forward will be wrong.

Not wise to talk to press.

Maybe if it’s going out live.

Pre-recorded allows for horrifying edits.

Even going out live, they can cut away at an inopportune time.

Make a press release. Then you’ll usually think about it and decide against it.

If you want to get the word out about something, so some marketing.

Don’t rely on the news.

IMHO.

This is madness.

I don't know why folks can't recognize the leftist medias game and simply tell them to f off.

Are you really naive enough to think that they won’t lie about you if you don’t say something? Even then they lied (not twist, lied) about what he said and they keep lying. If they didn’t have an interview with him to cut up into a lie then they just would have made something up. They have done it plenty of times before.

This guy needs a PR coach, and a spokesperson who can massage the message and handle the media. It’s clear the media is not on his side, and he isn’t capable of articulating his own position and beliefs as coherently as is required for these incessantly parsing piranhas.

Take Jim Quinn’s advice: “Never apologize. Never.”

Never apologize. Never.

That wasn't an apology. "Maybe I sinned. Maybe I don't know what I actually said.", is no apology.

He knows what he said, that it wasn't a sin, and it wasn't racist. (Not until it was edited to try to make it seem that way so the drive-by media could tell all the people out here what he said was racist, just in case we didn't have enough intelligence to figure out it was supposed to be racist because they said so, even if it wasn't.)

They are the ones misrepresenting what he said, and there is no reason he should apologize for that.

Huh. GOP elected politicians aren’t demanding Dem politicians to apologize for calling Americans jihadists, anarchists, unamericans etc etc but that crook mob associate Harry Reid says jump and elected Repubs do so. Shame on them. Mr Bundy isn’t a politician.

"Are you really naive enough to think that they won’t lie about you if you don’t say something?"

I remember a few years ago a British newspaper attributed some comments about polar bears to Sarah Palin. It didn't sound right, so I looked up the op-ed they were referring to, and she did not say anything like what they claimed she said, not even in the most liberal paraphrase. They just made it up.

Spot on. A Dem congressman can even get away with warning about Guam "tipping over" because of too many people, and escape ridicule. And any criticism of an inarticulate black person would raise cries of racism, but it's open season on inarticulate conservatives.

PRESS RELEASE

We are trading one form of slavery for another.

What I am saying is that all we Americans are trading one form of slavery for another. All of us are in some measure slaves of the federal government. Through their oppressive tactics of telling the ranchers how many cows they can have on their land, and making that number too low to support a ranch, the BLM has driven every rancher in Clark County off the land, except me. The IRS keeps the people of America in fear, and makes us all work about a third or a half of the year before we have earned enough to pay their taxes. This is nothing but slavery from January through May. The NSA spies on us and collects our private phone calls and emails. And the government dole which many people in America are on, and have been for much of their lives, is dehumanizing and degrading. It takes away incentive to work and self respect. Eventually a person on the dole becomes a ward of the government, because his only source of income is a dole from the government. Once the government has you in that position, you are its slave.

I am trying to keep Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream alive. He was praying for the day when he and his people would be free, and he could say I’m free, free at last, thank God I’m free at last! But all of us here America, no matter our race, are having our freedom eroded and destroyed by the federal government because of its heavy handed tactics. The BLM, the IRS, the NSA—all of the federal agencies are destroying our freedom. I am standing up against their bad and unconstitutional laws, just like Rosa Parks did when she refused to sit in the back of the bus. She started a revolution in America, the civil rights movement, which freed the black people from much of the oppression they were suffering. I’m saying Martin Luther King’s dream was not that Rosa could take her rightful seat in the front of the bus, but his dream was that she could take any seat on the bus and I would be honored to sit beside her. I am doing the same thing Rosa Parks did—I am standing up against bad laws which dehumanize us and destroy our freedom. Just like the Minutemen at Lexington and Concord, we are saying no to an oppressive government which considers us to be slaves rather than free men.

I invite all people in America to join in our peaceful revolution to regain our freedom. That is how America was started, and we need to keep that tradition alive.

Cliven D. Bundy

But that hope was short-lived as Bundy soon dived in to criticize people for being too sensitive.

“When you talk about prejudice … we don’t have freedom to say what we want.”

“If those people cannot take those kind of words and not be offensive then Martin Luther King hasn’t got his job done yet.”

He couldn't be more right.
