There is no question two households in the 8400 block of Carpenter in the Gresham neighborhood did not like each other.
In one house an off-duty officer identified by family as Courtney Hill and his wife Cathy, in the other, 86-year-old Joe Huff JR. and his wife Hazel.
Fraternal order of police spokesperson Pat Camden says the two women were fighting when one through some dirt at the other. Then both husbands come see what is going on.

Huffs family says the officer and his wife are to blame in this case. They point to a neighbor who says she called 9-1-1 when she heard yelling, she didn’t want to be identified.

Whoever wrote that story did not grow up with English as his/her first language. And WGN has apparently laid off all of their editors.
The quality of writing by this reporter is execrable. I could write better than this in high school.
Heck, I could do better even after my meds kick in. And that’s saying something.
I agree, the writing stinks. It was hell to snip it down to excerpt size and still at least give a clue as to what happened.

A good neighbor is a blessing and I’ve always been blessed with wonderful neighbors.
And I am in no way saying if you have a bad neighbor it’s your fault.
I’m just being grateful here.

Which is what Grant Balfour did for the Rays this evening: threw three walks, and threw the grand slam ball, which threw the game. Jose Abreu is pleased. Rays fans are less than pleased; one might say that they are angered through and through, or threw and threw, or perhaps thru and thru.
