Poll: Even Illinois is Sick of Obama

I never wonder to see men wicked, but I often wonder to see them not ashamed. – Jonathan Swift

Even Illinoisans are ashamed.

The wickedness has become so obvious, so entrenched and so brazen, that the state that used to take pride in their corruption, because it “worked,” now understands the Faustian bargain they've made.

A Gallup poll reveals that by a wide margin Illinoisans trust their government less than any other state in the union.

According to Gallup only 28% of people from Illinois have a great deal of trust in their government.

The Land of Lincoln is followed by Rhode Island, Maine, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, California and Maryland-- all of which post numbers from 40% to 49% level of trust by resident.

Residents from small government, pro-market states North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas and Alaska rate their government's highest in terms of trust, posting numbers as high as 79% of residents saying they have a great deal of trust in their government.

And that's not really a coincidence is it?

“Even though Midwesterners are generally more positive about their states,” writes the Chicago Tribune, “Illinois residents are the exception, with 25 percent declaring that it is ‘the worst possible state to live.’ The particularly grim outlook of Illinois residents could be attributed to factors like high-profile scandals and high taxes.”

And it can also be attributed to the fact that the same bozo that is running the country right now, came from Illinois.

Or more succinctly, Chicago. And Chicago is certainly the worst thing that ever happened to Obama, in the same way that Obama is the worst thing that ever happened to Chicago.

So like a lot of stories these days, Chicago works its way in there as a burr buried deep in someone’s hair since the 1960s.

If you are like me, you’re about as tired of my hometown of Chicago as the Detroit Lions are of Soldier Field. You are as tired of being ruled by aging hippies from there—like Hillary Clinton-- as you are of seeing slobbering media try to prop up an administration that deserves no props.

Chicago’s become the punchline behind the joke on the Obama administration in the same way that Monica Lewinsky became the punchline for the joke on Bill Clinton’s administration.

Metaphorically, there’s a great big stain splotching up the frock Chicago’s wearing. And we don’t have to wait for the DNA test to show who the culprits are or what they are up to.

Let me tell you what the history books will say.

The history books will say that these were the days of the last hurrah for the Democrat party machine; they will say that Chicago took a corrupt machine politician, packaged him as the reform candidate, realizing that they either had to export their corruption or die.

"When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him," wrote Swift.

And that applies especially to the genius of smaller government.

At a time when technology has given citizens the ability to be better informed, better educated and lead better lives, the dunces are conspiring to take away choices, rather than truly empower citizens.

So far from being truly “progressive”, in any meaningful sense of the word-- as opposed to the ideological sense of the word-- the nation's experiment in Chicago type politics can be seen as reactionary rather than something new, honest and hopeful.

And it’s not just Illinoisans that are paying attention.

Young people are too.

Conservative is becoming counterculture thanks to organic mismanagement, petty opportunism and lies-- the cornerstones on which the liberal freemasonry rests.

We saw that same effect under Jimmy Carter, as counterculture icons like Saturday Night Live helped turn the peanut farmer’s administration into a real life parody of a Saturday Night Live skit.

From there SNL and liberalism had nowhere to go but the mainstream, thereby creating hordes of young people, like me, who looked at liberalism as a swindle, a contrivance and a fraud.

So prepare, my friends, for the next American Century-- a conservative one.

Illinoisans are.

And that says a lot.

As always, these states like Illinois will vote Democrat. Look what they did in Detroit. No matter how corrupt or bad it was, they voted the same.

Yet this stupid a$$ state STILL elects (D)Marxists. Why Illinois? Why?

Inability on the part of the majority of voters to link cause and effect?

it’s because Chicago vote totally RAT, thus negating the rest of what the state votes/wants

Illinois voted for Obama in both elections. They are not “sick” of Obama - they love him. The writer did not present even one example of how Illinois is “sick” of Obama.

It's dawned on the good people of Illinois that their government 'works' for the people IN GOVERNMENT. And it doesn't work for anyone else...

5 counties here in Illinois are the problem, just 5 counties out of 103. The rest of this state are relatively normal, surprisingly conservative even. But we have been so gerrymandered by Madigan and the Combine it’s going to be almost impossible to save the state I grrew up and raised a family in.

So we are planning to leave. 4-5 more years and we are gone.

Maybe a few but we know who they are.

Seattle-Tacoma is the tail that wags the dog called Wash. State. And now Seattle has elected a queer mayor and an openly socialist councilwoman from India. Could it get any better?

Yes, just wait! Now they are trying to ram a $15/hr. minimum wage down the voters throats. Kshama Sawant, the avowed Marxist council member, has a degree in economics. Read her Wikipedia biography; she’s a real pip.

Without Cook, Romney would have carried the state.

But Obama still would have won the state in 2008 (not to mention the 2004 Senate race) and Clinton would have won in ‘92 and ‘96, though both times in a near tie and only thanks to Perot.

Because I am a nerd for such things, I’ve been working on a little something. Forgive the ping if you aren’t interested in this sort of thing.

Using data from Dave Leip’s Atlas

http://uselectionatlas.org/

I calculated the exact results from the last 7 Presidential and 3 Gubernatorial elections for Illinois, without Cook County. It’s interesting to compare the rest of Illinois (”Restinois”) to it’s neighbors Indiana and Missouri and put into perspective just how badly Crook county screws things up. If Restinois were actually separate it would have been a hotly contested state, not ignored by Republican POTUS candidates, so the actual results would have ended up slightly better, but here they are. A fun yet sad hypothetical.

2012

Romney (R) 50.66%

Obama (D) 47.30 %

Johnson (Libert) 1.25%

+3.36% Romney. Would have been the closest Romney win after North Carolina

2008

Obama (D) 52.77%

McCain (R) 45.49%

-7.28% Closely mirroring the nationwide margin, -7.26%

2004

Bush (R) 54.22%

Kerry (D) 45.02%

+9.2% Bush! That beats Missouri and Virginia that year and was almost as big a margin as Arkansas.

2000

Bush (R) 51.63%

Gore (D) 45.49%

Nader (Green) 2.14%

+6.14% Bush, only slightly worse than Arizona

1996

Clinton (D) 45.98%

Dole (R) 43.54%

Perot (Ref) 9.66%

-2.44% Would have joined 4 other states that Clinton won by less than 3%. 63,000 vote margin for Clinton. Major attention by Dole (which would have been likely) could have given him the win.

1992

Clinton 41.46%

Bush 38.88%

Perot 19.24%

-2.58% Like 1996, very close.

Now the Gubernatorial elections. Lets see what the Restinois thinks of Chicago scumbags who run for Governor. Of course they wouldn’t even be eligible to run if their home county wasn’t in the state, instead the Republicans would have faced different democrats who would have run stronger in Restinois.

2010

Brady (R) 56.34%

Quinn (R) 36.23%

Cohen (R) 3.57%

Whitney (G) 2.82%

Green (L) 1.04%

If you were wondering exactly how badly Quinn got his butt kicked outside of Cook, it was 20 points. Yes, the Libertarian as named Green.

2002

Topinka (RINO) 47.01%

Blagovevich (D) 40.53%

Whitney (G) 11.58%

Topinka is also from Cook county so she wouldn’t have been able to run either. But as we see even against a worthless RINO running a poor campaign, Blago still lost Restinois by a good margin.

2002

Ryan (R) 53.5%

Blagovevich (D) 43.48%

Skinner (L) 2.44%

Oh look, not even close, easy 10 point win for Ryan. And Blago was the rat that downstate democrats preferred, that was the only reason he won the primary, he placed third in Cook county in primary. So Blago wouldn’t have been Governor of anything!

The last rat Governor to come from outside Cook was Dan Walker. He beat narrowly beat Cook County Republican and incumbent Governor Richard Ogilvie in 1972. Even Walker would have lost without Cook.

The last time Restinois voted for a Chicago rat for Governor was in 1960, when rat Otto Kerner carried Restinois by a few thousands votes over incumbent William Stratton, our last conservative Governor.
