A teen boy slashed a 16-year-old girl to death at their Connecticut high school Friday morning — after he asked her to be his date for the junior prom and she turned him down.
The girl, Maren Sanchez, had planned to go to the prom Friday night with another boy, a friend of her alleged attacker.
“Yay, so excited!!!!!” she had written under a recent Sanchez’s friends recounted the morning encounter and grisly attack.
“He asked her to the prom right there, and she rejected him,” Imani Langston, a junior who described herself as Sanchez’s best friend, told The Post.
Another junior, Sam Garcia, 16, recalled: “There was blood on her neck. It was awful.”
Sanchez was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife, including in the face and chest, as she struggled with the spurned boy near a stairwell at Jonathan Law HS in Milford, officials said.
The popular girl, who had wanted to go into music and acting and was on multiple sports teams, fought back, even biting the boy as he strangled and cut her, sources said.

I grew up in the folk music revival, so this is the kind of stuff I listened to most.
Everyone sang them at one time. They were a major part of the body of music people used to sing as they worked. Fortunately Burl Ives saved a lot of that music from being permanently lost.
True, but either it is that more of this is reported, or people are really not dealing with rejection very well. In a society that mollycoddles, gives out participation awards, and does not prepare the little darlings for a few bumps to their egos (or medicates them out of them), I suspect there will be more and worse.

I have a 28 year old daughter I’m fixing to go to brunch with who is very attractive in high school and is now a CPA. I remember being scared to death that something like this would happen to her with boys constantly asking her out so I CONSTANTLY coached her “Christina!.....you treat these boys with respect, don’t put them down EVEN SLIGHTLY...EVER!!!
Always BE AWARE of signs some boy is going to ask u out and then always have a polite, respectful reason WHY you couldn’t accept! If she was not going to the event I would tell her “Blame Dad”. If she was going to an event “blame it on Dad “having to meet u first” and on and on. We got pretty good at making/creating excuses that would not hurt a boys feelings.
I wonder if she even had a Dad?
Reminds me of blacks bragging/proclaiming that twerking is an example of their “culture” . If that’s supposed to be a shining example of a given group’s “culture” then God help them. And the rest of us.

All schools have outlawed all weapons including KNIVES at schools. So plainly this youth didn't bring that weapon and this didn't happen the way it says. /sarc.
