I honestly think the GOP would like to kick us out and lose.
I generally have authority issues, so there won’t be any “falling in line” with the GOP from me. They’ve proven they can’t be trusted, or relied upon, to do the right thing.
Apparently the Weeper of the House, Boehner, doesn't want conservatives in the GOP anyway.
I’ve already walked away.
12 Numbers Which Prove That Americans Are Sick And Tired Of Politics As Usual
http://www.infowars.com/12-numbers-which-prove-that-americans-are-sick-and-tired-of-politics-as-usual/
(Key statistics)
#4 According to a Real Clear Politics average of national polls, Americans disapprove of the job that Congress is doing by a 77.6 percent to 14.2 percent margin.
#6 65 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the U.S. system of government and its effectiveness. That is the highest level of dissatisfaction that Gallup has ever recorded.
#7 Only 4 percent of Americans believe that it would change Congress for the worse if every member was voted out during the next election.
#11 60 percent of Americans report feeling angry or irritable. Two years ago that number was at 50 percent.
#12 70 percent of Americans do not have confidence that the federal government will make progress on the important problems and issues facing the country in 2014.”
(And the kicker!)
#8 An all-time low 31 percent of Americans identify themselves as Democrats.
#9 An all-time low 25 percent of Americans identify themselves as Republicans.
#10 An all-time high 42 percent of Americans identify themselves as Independents.
(This number keeps rising. The last time I saw #10 around ten+ years ago the number was at 20 percent.)
The only reason the TeaParty would walk is if the GOP gave us a candidate so bad it wouldn’t matter who won.
The Tea party, an exotic addition? What rubbish. The Tea party is rational. The thieves, worms and grifters we have now in Congress are the ones not rational.
There are a few individuals I *might* show up and pull the lever for--Rand, Cruz, Lee, etc.
There is only the Uniparty.
The Tea Party walking away would create the 2nd party.
I would say pass amnesty and nominate Jeb or Crispy. That should do it.
Instead of mushy rinos stopping the worse of the democrat scum, the democrat scum would do much more damage than they are doing now. Unfettered.
Many ‘Tea Party ‘ types here in Maine have walked away from the GOP.
We realized the party is co-opted from the top down.
I would really like it to happen, but it won’t. It requires accepting that it WILL have some impact on some elections. It WILL hurt the GOP. Of course, that means it will help the Dims. But ... the only way to change/get rid of the GOP is to hurt it. The “hold your nose and vote” is exactly what permits the GOP to kick us to the curb. They know that despite all our protestations we will trudge to the ballot box and vote regardless.
It will take boldness and courage to take over, etc the GOP. We have to show that we are not lemmings and lackeys. However, I just don’t see that happening. We will hold our nose. We will vote. And not a d*** thing will change.
I hope I am wrong, but don’t think I am.
IMHO, it’s a no brainer, “follow the money”:
Most of the GOP-E would be still safely fat and happy- as lobbyists, consultants or the like - with Hillary as POTUS.
They’d have something to gripe (and, more importantly fund raise) about, but Boner, McInsane and their ilk would not miss a meal or a paycheck with any Democrat elected.
The Tea Party is far more of a threat to their very comfortable status quo. At the least they might have to at least act as if they had any convictions (besides feeling just as “entitled” to that check as anyone on welfare in the inner city), at the worst they might actually have to do some governing.
Were I a selfish bastard of a GOP-elitist (wait, I repeat myself) President Clinton II would be much more to my economic benefit than President Cruz, Walker or Christie.
The only hope for this country, short of secession (which is looking better and better to me every day) is to work to change the party from *within*.
If the GOP passes amnesty, grassroots will walk away before the
2014 elections and stay away.
Romney lost because the base didn’t “fall in line”.
