The National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People announced Sunday that Donald Sterling will not receive an honor amid controversy over a recording said to be of the Clippers team owner making racist remarks.
The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP had been scheduled to give Sterling the group's lifetime achievement award at its May 15 banquet.
At the banquet, the NAACP also planned to give its first "person of the year" awards to L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

I heard Magic Johnson was going to be the emcee.
I guess not now.
Try to imagine if he had been scheduled to receive an award from a conservative group. We would be hearing about it non-stop, with the group coming under fire as being "racist" for considering him for the award.
As much as I like seeing the leftist cannibalism going on here, did the guy really say don't bring "black people" to my games, or was he saying (I am paraphrasing here): "I don't care if you are banging other dudes, just don't bring them to the games".
It seems like the media and the left are picking a specific characteristic of the individuals being referenced and selling the narrative that he "must" have been making reference to their race as opposed to their relationship to his gold-digger, trophy gf.
I have no way of knowing, but it seems like a case of "you are only criticizing, targeting, disagreeing with me because I am black", on steroids.
Looks like the girlfriend is now talking through her attorney. I smell legal blackmail. Will the chick walk away with a bundle? Did he threaten her? Blah...blah...blah
WHO secretly taped him, then released the tape???
He never did anything...just like Jessie...
We are a very sick society that the NAACP or the likes of Sharton can lecture anyone on race.
LOL - yep - he looks out for number one...
